VFL Jabari Greer says " Florida is...."

florida has no QB going into 2016 except treon harris and some walk on---harris is terrible and has gotten worse over the season. The Vols will beat florida by 10+ in Knoxville--mark it down! UT will own the East!

You forgot that Florida beat us with Harris in 2014!!! He led the late game comeback!!

No.

It was Saturday coaching malpractice. I actually lump the Alabama game with Florida and Oklahoma as absolute Saturday malpractice. When Medley had two tries on the first 50 yard field goal in that game, it should have immediately implemented new strategies (everything Butch did with Medley after the Alabama game was perfect, btw).

Butch has two things to prove:

1. Can he coach toe-to-toe on Saturdays against the best in the SEC?

2. Can his offense move the football consistently when there is no clear talent or speed advantage? (this will ALWAYS be the case in the top half of the SEC)

SEC East has never been worse and we have not been able to capitalize for several years now.

There are no big orange excuses good enough for not getting it done in 2016.

Putting 100% of the blame on the losses on just the coaches is asinie and stupid. The coaches dont drop passes, throw INTs, miss tackles, fumble, cause sacks, miss blocks, miss wide open WRs or get hurt. Your incessant need to blame just one side of the coin for losses is dumb. There is a reason why its called a TEAM and not just coaches or just players.

The coaches AND the players are to blame for the losses. Why some of you cannot realize this is mesmerizing.

And players don't decide to go too conservative too soon.... they don't decide to kick FG's at the 1.

Players and assistants execute the strategy and approach of the HC.

Thats exactly why I said the TEAM lost. The players still have to execute. So spin it however you want to fit whatever agenda youre pushing. But the players are responsible for the losses this year as well. Not AS much as the coaches, but they had a hand in them.

The team is all coaches AND players. Stop trying o put ALL the blame on coaching. Its beyond stupid.

I think Tennessee will beat Florida next year at home, and so the "gotta beat 'em first" argument doesn't hold any weight for me.

totally agree. how many times have there been big plays right there on offense only to drop the pass, big run or return called back for holding etc? i mean, big first downs and touchdowns that would have changed the game. and then there's the defensive side of things. i think there have been a number of times where miss assignments/miscommunication led to tds that killed us just to start.

so everyone shares in the losing. coaches gotta coach and the players gotta make the plays.

Collegiate athletes are going to execute imperfectly. The key is to put those athletes in as good a position as possible and to give them as many chances to execute as possible.

The problem with the big losses this year is that the coaching staff 1. failed to give them opportunities and certainly seemed not to trust the team at the start of the year, and 2. made egregious and inexcusable coaching 101 errors on Saturdays which are well-documented.

My disappointment in the season has faded and I'm ready again to give Butch the benefit of the doubt.

My only agenda is that: Butch better know his team now, better be finished with his and his staff's SEC OJT, and better win the East next year as the clear favorite.

If Butch can't beat Florida next year then it's time to start looking for a new coach. A $4 million dollar coach better beat Florida more than he loses to them and right now he is 0-3 against weak Florida teams. I understand his first year we were not equal but the last two years there's no excuses not to have gotten at least one of them.

You do know that McElwain is likely to get a raise this year and will be getting paid more than Butch right?

Exactly. Yet for some reason, some fans just want to blame the coaching staff. Its sheer idiocy.

Sorry but the players made almost just as many inexcusable errors. While these are young men, lets not talk like playing for UT was their first experience in life in a team sport. I would be willing to bet that the vast majority of college football players have been playing football at lest 3-4 years before getting to college. So simply writing off the players screw ups is not fair or correct.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a merry Christmas. Oops, I am sorry I didnt mean to say Christmas. That didnt offend you did it? I know saying Christmas is illegal these days.

We will be the odds on favorite in Vegas to win the East next year, no matter what happened this past year.

Not saying that we'll win it but anyone that thinks that the Vols won't have the shortest odds to win the East in '16 either doesn't understand gambling or is in denial.

UF and OU are primarily on Jones. Not the players. Not the assistants. He tried to salt the game away by being more conservative than he had to be... or should have been. He put all of the pressure on the D rather than letting the O carry some of it. There may come a day when UT's D is that good... it wasn't any of the first 3 years and probably won't be the next two either.

Players and coaches will make execution mistakes. They will make tactical mistakes whether bad reads or bad play calls. Championship coaches should NEVER make poor strategic decisions.

I personally do not believe that was the case vs Arkansas or Bama. But IMO it was vs Vandy in year one, UF and Mizzou last year, then OU and UF this year.

Me either when it comes to the whole streak. It does however when it comes to Jones personally. He's 0-3. Two of those losses were to the worst two UF teams in at least 25 years. Last year their roster still wasn't that strong... but it is very troubling that he lost anyway... to a 1st year coach... still installing his system... that was playing with someone else's recruits... on a team in need of a culture change... You know, basically all of the reasons we were told Jones couldn't win more games in the first 2 years.

Grier will be crap with a year out of playing and no PED's.

1. Grier can't play any worse than the others when he comes back. He will be practicing with the team.

2. What is the point in discussing WG for the game next year as he will not be eligible to play against UT?

3. I suggest reading about anabolic steroids (injection vs oral), what each compound does, sarms, dosing cycles, how to control estrogen, where to obtain said AAS (ex: they are not available OTC) and sarms (ex: the legit research kind comes in liquid that you get from the internet, again, not at a store OTC), and usage among collegiate/pro football players. You sound like a moron when you say PEDs. Caffeine is considered a PED.

Florida loses a ton of talent on D and will have no good QB against UT. The vols should win that game easily in Knoxville. The only real team to worry about is Alabama--they will be loaded again. Georgia will be down with a new coach and a shaky QB. UT should beat them again.

IMHO, McElwain's "guy" Franks will "win" the starting job and never look back. JM bought himself time with this year. He can afford to start a Fr even if it costs a game or two as he rebuilds their program in "his image".
