Great shooter especially vs zone, when he went in games teams switched from zone to man defense.

Solid 6th man when teams only had 6 or 7 players in the rotation. His class was the last one when freshmen weren’t eligible. He played on the perimeter a decade before the 3-point line.

He said that only 6 players lettered on that team. Mears wasn't big on depth which I think may have hurt his teams in March Madness.
