Lineman added: LSU sophomore defensive lineman Ricky Jean-Francois, a first team freshman All-American by The Sporting News and a member of the All-SEC team last season, will play Saturday. He had been suspended for the first 12 games of the season for an academic honesty issue.
"He will play," LSU Coach Les Miles said after practice Wednesday but declined to get into details. "I don't want to get specific there. I defer. I cannot confirm nor deny. But he'll take some snaps in the game I promise you."

this is one of the those things about big-time college football that kind of makes you sick to your stomach. Whatever he did, it warranted a season long suspension and now that there's a chance to win the SEC....

Would playing that one game burn his entire sophmore eligibilty? Why waste a year on just 1-2 games? He must really believe he's getting the Michigan job, because at this point, wouldn't it be better to just save him for the next 3 seasons?

If he was suspended I would think that year was lost anyway, but I do know that if he does play, even one snap, he can't be redshirted. So it would seem either way he loses the year. So why do it to the kid?

Yeah, despite the fact their D Line has been banged up most of the year, they waited until their National Title hopes were dashed to unleash this guy specifically on us. Please.

I believe Miles going to Mich, no question. As to playing this player after a season of suspension, sounds like he is taking a page out of the urban legend disciplinary handbook. GO VOLS beat the tigers, be they injured, suspended, on the way to the big 10, whatever!:banghead2:

Couldnt be that Miles is sending the message that a championship is more important than honesty on his way out of town could it? please. LSU meet Alabama, new boss...same as the old boss.

It wasn't Miles decision, it was an academic suspension by the university.
