Very strange CFP prediction.

I’m already here and excited for the “fans” that complain weekly that we need help from the teams in front of us to also complain that when we get that help as evidenced with Vandy losing big to Texas, it won’t actually “help us”
Vandy isn’t really help we need. If they won out til our game, we could have the same record and a head to head win, which would already put us over them. If they end up 7-5, beating them isn’t too impressive. What would be best for Tennessee is to win out with our opponents only losing to us. We are getting to a point to where it seems unlikely Ole Miss, A&M, Georgia, and Bama finish worse than 10-2.

But I’m still of the opinion that it will work itself out somehow if we get to 10-2.

It doesn’t matter when Vandy drops below us. We have to have them do it regardless. Whether it’s today or the last week of the regular season, it’s irrelevant.

Beating a 10-1 Vanderbilt team would look a lot better on our resume than beating a 7-4 Vanderbilt team. Considering we haven’t beaten a team with a winning record, we need to some strong wins to close out. We should want OU to get to 9-3 and Vandy to get to 10-2 with us winning out.

I’m sorry but if we are 9-2 going into the final week of the regular season and Vandy is 9-2 going into the regular season, they are still gonna be a top 15 team that is ranked below us.

Tennessee could very likely be ranked inside the Top 12 after today if Vandy loses big and we have a score similar to last week in victory over OU.

No result in this Texas Vandy game can hurt us.

It won't matter, we will be in at 10-2 no matter how overrated Vandy was

College Game Day has 2 teams from the state of Tennessee, and neither
one is UT : Memphis and Vandy.
Something I never thought I would see !
Nice observation!

Most of us thought the NIL era would reward the Haves and further the decline of the Have Nots. Maybe this is evidence that we were wrong, and that it is introducing a new level of parity.

Football prognosticators may soon be charting correlations between recruiting and the stock market.

For example, about 80% of the country is currently in a recession. That means schools whose NIL is heavily supported by restaurant-related conglomerates should start receiving less funding, whereas energy production funded NIL should skyrocket in the international race to build and supply Artificial Intelligence.

The outliers would be those programs who can offer such a positive, life-preparing culture and support community that they can attract those players/families who understand the place and limitations of money.

IMHO

I have long thought that, but I’m starting to have some doubt. It would take getting 5 SEC teams most likely, because at this point it is likely that A&M, Ga, Bama, and Ole Miss all go at least 10-2.

I always thought the Big Ten and SEC would get 8 teams overall with them splitting at 4 a piece. With Penn State’s demise, I’m thinking a 5:3 ratio is still on the table.

We will know exactly what’s possible after the first rankings comes out.

People talking about our strength of schedule!

Riddle me this! #1 team is Ohio State, beside a Mediocre Texas team first game of the year, who have they played/beat?

Add #2 Indiana to that conversation as well. Along with Oregon.

No way they leave out 10-2 Tennessee with better losses than Notre Dame and the best QB in the SEC.

If USC loses another game, it’s gonna come down to our wins (for us to be 10-2) over OU and Vandy finishing the season ranked.

Right now, Tennessee and Notre Dame may be tied with the best losses of the 2 loss teams.

I will be interested to see what happens if Miami doesn’t win today against SMU. Currently 17-14 in 3rd Q
