22 is bench mark for success tomorrow IMO.

I believe the ship has sailed with ford so he isn't included in my thoughts here.

I will be very pleased if we get:::

2 of 3 with bell, Boyd, and levenbeery

2 of 3 with brown, dobbs, and miller

Those 4 get us to 22.

I'm cool with that. Although, I tend to put Bell in his own category and if we don't get him no mattresses is safe.

Bell could certainly be a make or break guy but getting levenberry and Boyd would make up enough to save the class IMO.

I agree, Bruin.

I think we land Bell, Levenberry, Miller and Dobbs. I'd be a little surprised if we don't land Brown too but he seems to be struggling with his decision so maybe he sticks with Cuse.

My surprise pick is Bellamy. I just have a feeling he might be selecting UT tomorrow, I'm probably wrong there as it's mostly just hope since we need another DE :)

And there seems to be some momentum with Boyd but I'm not going against family pressure with my picks.

Bold call with Bellamy!! I think we get Boyd. Sweeping that first group of three I mentioned is very possible!

Didn't he say that Georgia was his leader, though? I do hope we get him, I just don't feel secure with any commits anymore until the ink is dry.

I have this theory that his weekend pic in Oregon and all the backlash really opened his eyes to the fact he needs a staff he can trust to keep him in line and focused on being the best FB player and person he can be. And he's said he has the best relationship with UT's staff, right?

Fortenberry said last night our staff has been in constant contact with him up until last night and then Bellamy tweets shortly after that he's made up his mind. I think it's possible Butch closed him last night on the phone. All of this theory could be complete nonsense but I'm going with it anyway :salute:

And I agree with you that Boyd to UT is looking very very possible but momma wanting him at Pitt scares me.

And you know the saying, "if momma ain't happy..."

Hope you're right though.

If we end with 22,

Then IMO we will pass

23. Mississippi St.
22. Virginia
19.Vanderbilt
Possibly #14 Nebraska

ending with a #21 ranked class.

Bell and Levenberry will be the two I want the most tomorrow.

My Big Fish wish Trey Johnson, long shot I know.

When you mention mothers being involved in their son's decision, I can't help but remember how Gabe Wright wanted to come to U.T. but his mother and girl friend wanted him to play at Auburn and he selected Auburn.

I also, recalll the one Lousiana kid who chose "Bama" over "LSwho" and his mother made a big scene over it. So, kids don't always listen to their parents

I really would have liked to sign Ford. Hope he changes his mind by tomorrow. Having him would really solidify this class

Bell wouldn't bump us more than that??

Yeah it would. If we landed Bell, Levenberry, Miller and Dobbs only it would give us 2142 points and we'd currently be in 11th. Of course other teams will add more players so we'd fall a few spots to around 15th give or take a spot.

If we also added Boyd and Brown we'd have 2369 pts and currently be in 9th.

It depends on who we get but Bell and 3 3*'s would put us at roughly 2000 points...that's a worst case situation IMO and pretty much guarantees a top 20 finish

If we get around 22 we would get a Top 15 class via Rivals. Our position would depend on what happens with other teams in that Top 15 but a very good class under our first year head coach.

My updated Best/Worst case scenario for us is as follows.

Best - Top 10 finish (would require Bell, Boyd, Levenberry, Bellamy/Miller/Brown).

Worst - Top 30 finish (would require losing a current recruit and only signing Miller or Brown.

Base (most likely scenario) - Top 20 finish, Sign Bell, Boyd or Levenberry, Bellamy or Dobbs, Miller or Brown. This would put us around 2037 Rivals points and roughly 12th currently.

Our defense being as abysmal as it was last year, I think we need Bell and Levenberry. Along with Carr, that's 3 blue chippers that improves each line of defense. Would love to get a Trey Johnson surprise as well. The Miller's and Bellamy's would provide good depth on the D-line and allow us to go after next years big fish on the D-line.
