I was a detractor and I feel no need to apologize. In the entire story, the only new information is that they helped him keep a year of eligibility by keeping him off the field in a meaningless game. He needs to do his business and play ball.Wow! Just wow, IMO many of his detractors here on VN owe this young man a very serious apology.
Did you play with Ricky Blake by any chance? Heard that dude was a stud and I was at a few of those games in my younger yearsI sat the bench while his father starred for Lincoln County High in the mid eighties. Not as good as his son, but obviously a very good player, person and even better father. Through all the ups and downs, I had faith in JJ and still believe he will have a long prosperous nfl career. Great story
I sleep great. He ****** up not me. He got a second chance and it’s on him from here on out. You take this board too seriously, dude! “Smeared” “conscience” “apologize” wth? Time to tear it down and build yourself back up.Just go back and read many of the things written here on VN about JJ returning. Lots of emotional outbursts about his emotional outburst at the time are NOT where I view the apologies are needed. Just go back, look for yourself, terms like "cancer" references to "drug use" all sorts of pure negative speculation about a young man and his character that turned out not to be true at all. People smeared him with falsehoods, those are the VN posters IMO after having read this article that need to apologize if they have a conscience at all. Of course lots of folks cannot ever bring themselves to apologize for anything, seeing it as some type of weakness when anyone does, consequently they can't, and sleep well at night. I'm just not built that way personally.
Mature adults "not blaming" a kid because the situation on a college football team wasn't to his liking is BS. He signed on to play for UT. He doesn't get to pick the coaches. He should have walked off the field and transferred. His all about me tirade was nothing more than an out of control childish rant when, in fact he actually profited from not playing the Vandy game. I hope he does well, and has an awesome year. I am in the same camp as Butchna on this. His BS video earned him the boot no matter who was coaching. The people that kicked him off the team had every right to do so. The people that are giving him a second chance, have every right to do so. I hope he does well and continues to be a leader in the locker room but I dislike seeing the crap he posted from any of our players.Maybe not the best decisions, but can't blame the kid with Lyle & his sorry group called a "coaching staff". They probably could've learned a thing or two from Jauan's intensity and passion to be good.
Happy for the kid and excited for the rest of his time here! GBO
Those that continued to bash on him after the coaches and the AD decided on a course of action to have him back are very few. If you feel so strongly about it, go quote the posts and call the people out. I think you will find very few that continued knocking him after CJP and ADPF outlined his road back and they generally are the more negative posters anyway. Your moral tirade here isn't needed and makes you look silly. It's actually much like JJ's tirade at the end of last year......just a long drawn out WHHHHHHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH.Just go back and read many of the things written here on VN about JJ returning. Yeah he was a monster RB here. Didn't have the speed to become high profile tailback but went on to have a pretty decent nfl career as a FB with my Cowboys. His brother Eddie is my age and probably had the most upside of any Lincoln County prospect ever (6-4 320 OL). Committed to Auburn but grades sent him the Juco route. He ended up signing a big deal with the dolphins but injuries ended his career b4 it ever really took off. But yeah Ricky was a beast, man did I hate trying to tackle him!Did you play with Ricky Blake by any chance? Heard that dude was a stud and I was at a few of those games in my younger years
Yea I was at a few games he played in but I was too young to remember. Family is from Fayetteville so I attended several games and run that ramp several hundred timesYeah he was a monster RB here. I will respectfully disagree with you. I have a brother-in-law who is absolutely the most competitive person I know but has allowed that to spill over into ever area of his life. Its actually been ugly at times even though he was a great athlete. In JJ's case...no reasonable person would think after the video he released he should still be around the program...no one...and I THINK.. only time will tell...JJ has learned a HUGE life lesson and I and thrilled he was given a second chance WITH CONDITIONS otherwise no lesson would have been learned probably......never, ever confuse competitiveness with responsibility or character...EVER...its not the same thing..and some of the most competitive people I've been around have also been the most controlled, responsible folks I know...One good friend is a former All American and Outland Trophy winner and competitive like crazy...but he's also the most gentle, kind hearted, controlled person I know...I don't think anyone here will be apologizing to JJ...JMO...
