This past season record wise went just about how I thought it would. I see next season going MUCH better and I can't wait.

1.We'll finally have some decent depth at almost every position.

2.Our average age and experience will go up quite a bit with a small senior group departing.

3. I have confidence Dave Hart will open the purse a bit wider so Dooley can get a great DC in here.

4. Offense looked beast mode before Hunter went down. Hearing he's on track to be full speed by spring.

We all knew going in to last year that '12 was our year. I still think it is. The sad thing that reading this board has taught me is, if we win 9 or more games, some of you will be pissed because we'll keep Dooley. Here's hoping your pissed.:)

How's it feel to be on an island of hope surrounded by the sharks of discontent? You will surely be deluged with those calling you names for thinking our frosh and sophs will be better next year w/ CDD at the helm. Duck and Cover....Incoming..

I agree next year is going to be fun to watch if we can stay healthy. CDD will be having great things said about him.

I think that next year will be a very good year for us. I am not to worried about Wilcox leaving because Dools will get a good replacement for him. I just hope he finds a Sirmon level recruiter to bring on board as well

2012 was the year I expected us to be ready for a good dose of payback for all these beatdowns we have taken recently. We maintain or health, sky's the limit. GBO

The constant pessimism on the site is tiring.

Thanks for speaking up. One thing is for sure, we won't stay down, with or without Dooley. I would rather it be with. Don't want another head coaching change.

The Internet gives voice to many that need one. "Negative Nancy" is never popular in person and everyone wants to be heard.

Those that live on forums tend to have these personalities, which is likely why they have the time to live on forums.

The state of the program is uncertain. Dooley inherited a mess and has done well, all things considered. If he can pull through these continous setbacks, develop continuity / stability of staff, recruit / develop talent and turn this into wins, then he will deserve everyone's respect.

Can he do it? Jury is still out. One thing is for certain we are going to know if he can roll with the punches, cause they keep comin'.

Not as confident as you about the future, but don't believe the sky is falling either. DC hire needs to be a good one.

Go Vols!!

We have a pessimistic coach, what else do you expect? But, what can I say you're a young poster and have no experience... Next year is year 1 for you!

I'm now a very old poster and I have optimism for CDD & the youthful program. My 1st game to see in person was '72, pretty old huh?:hi:

i have no idea why anyone would have any negative feelings after a 3rd losing season in 4 years.

and the one winning season was a robust 7-6.

usually, that gives people the warm and fuzzies.

By the way, this predominantly positive thread must be the 'twilight zone' of VN. Well Done gentlemen.

Yall are just setting your self up to be upset and its not being pessimistic its being real. Looking at hard facts and numbers what do you expect. I hope you are right but doubt it. we may finish 3rd in the SEC at best. What do you all expect from fans to be honestly we haven't seen anything worth cheering for in two years.

Awww Gator, your killing the buzz. what's with the negative waves? It's not your team - celebrate your bowl victory..:hi:

OOPs, I spoke too soon, here comes the anticipated negative tsunami of most threads/posts. Twilight Zone retreats.

This wasn't directed towards you, obviously! But, an optimistic fan for a pessimistic coach doesn't make much sense. He ain't thinking what your thinking sir!

It's all about supporting the University and the players. I have zero say in the hiring and firing of coaches, but I can do my small part and support this team and university in every aspect. I see no need to blast CDD of his staff it does no good and it really pisses me off when I read all the crap this fanbase spews at CDD and his staff. If fans want to bash me for my unconditional support of the staff that's their issue and not a big deal to me. GBO VFL
