No, you are whining. Your whining about what the guy didnt say and then it was pointed out to you that he did infact say what you were wanting to hear. You might as well complain about his choice of head wear or the outfit his wife was wearing. It makes about as much of an addition to the current state as the drivel you've stirred around for the past 16 or 17pages.

He wasn't scared to say we will beat Florida next year. You are reading into something that just wasn't there.

Rewatched the beginning of the presser.

1. At the 21 minute mark (he starts talking about 16 minute mark) - he talks keeping state players coming to UT "we need them here with us winning championships at UT"

2. Later he says I'm not going to tell you "how many championships we are going to win". He's not saying we won't win any - he's saying he won't predict the #.

I'd say that he doesn't care if he generates bulletin board fodder for Florida is a pretty strong statement. Much more so than a trite commentary on championships.

Ok, I understand your rationale. Lets look at this from a different perspective. If he had very boldly jumped out and made a declaration of winning championships, what would happen if they don't next year? We would be dissappointed and probably stick "For Sale" signs in his yard. We are an extremely brutal fan base. Just ask Bill Battle. How many signs did he find in his yard that Sunday morning? And I think I remember a U-Haul truck also. Yes, we are brutal and the entire nation knows it.

I think you are reading far too much into it.

I wish someone would have asked what he expects from players in the classroom and off the field though. I hope he's no nonsense when it comes to these numerous off the field incidents that have plagued us for years.

I was against this hiring from Day 1, but honestly after listening to him yesterday I was ready to hit somebody in the mouth. He won me over yesterday by the comments he made. Honestly, if he had said "we'll win a championship next year" and it didn't happen, I guarantee you'd be the first one after the 2009 season begging for his head. Give the man time.

I heard him say he wanted to compete in the SEC, that's enough for me and tells me what I want to know about him and what he wants to accomplish. If he had said anything close to what you wanted him to would just come back and haunt him in year 1 in numerous ways.

This team has no QB, No RB (Creer may be good), only 1 wr threat, and no OL coming back from a 5-7 team. What was LK supposed to say?......."We are the new USC/UF...get ready 2 NC's in the next 6 years."

If he starts making comments about winning championships too soon,increasing fan expectations, he would be putting his foot in his mouth.Why burden yourself by even saying that.
