The following jobs in the pac-10 are better:
1. USC
2. UCLA
3. Cal
4. ASU
5. Oregon
The state of washington doesn't produce many pac-10 players. During the don james era most of the northwest was garbage (including cal and stanford). It's not nearly as good of a job as it was 10 years ago.

how does upper campus look now that the trees and the feces-slinging tree sitters are gone? do you think the facilities will help bolster the program? do you guys still like tedford? (no big bowl appearances or notable upsets lately). i went to a viewing of the big game here in london and almost wore cal gear. almost. then i put on a boalt t-shirt to show my tenuous allegiance and called it a day. nice to see them beat stanfurd tho. (btw, that rivalry is totally envy driven. cal has hotter girls and stanfurd has a nicer campus.)
I'm shocked that you and I generally agree. Maybe the lack of Haiku form helped. So to nitpick early and often will help win championships???
Lane did mention that he was sure not everyone on the internet would be happy, should we criticize him for making such and understatement???
Stuff a thermometer in it!:ill_h4h:
I have to say im almost offended that not 1 time in the press conference did i hear clk say that we are going to be competing for championships. In fact, when asked about expectations, he said something along the lines of the wins will come in time. How about making a statement to the country and letting every recruit out there that we expect to win championships here at tennessee. Somehow he manages to call out urban meyer and florida but doesnt have the guts to not accept losing.
It sounds like clk is thinking this is more rebuilding than refining and doesnt think were gonna compete for the sec next year. I dont like that right from the gate. I think today was the day to make a statement to the whole country that Tennessee is coming. Instead we got somebody who seemed scared to put his neck on the line
Okay, he's absolutely brilliant in every way. Now explain the Raiders.
1st off... i like what i have see from kiffin.. so far. i support him and this team 100%. i do not expect to win championships every year. However, i do expect to be COMPETING for them and be in the position to have a chance to go to atlanta every year. From what we know, this is shaping up to be the best football staff in AMERICA. I dont think hamilton signs off on all these big time names without expecting the sec crown within 2 years. m. kiffin only has a couple years, orgeron is a hired gun( who i think is more trouble than hes worth.) Thiss is a staff that is not gonna be able to handle losing. You dont bring in one of the highest paid coaching staffs to be mediocre. I wish CLK the best and im always a vol but i wanted to see him say that this is tennessee and we expect to be in the mix every year. thats not biting off more than he can chew, its just setting the tone for his tenure.[/QUOTE]
i think that's right, particularly if you buy into the hype about him being an offensive genius. if he's that good, he should have no problem being that confident. shoot for the stars, you know?
people went on and on this season about how we have the talent, the facilities, basically everything except the coaching necessary to win. so now that we allegedly have good coaching, there should be nothing keeping us from competing for the SEC title next year. even worn-out fulmer (with a little help from the football gods) managed to get us to the SEC title game last year. if this guy is half as good as he's supposed to be, there should be no problem making the statement now that we intend to compete for it again.
Believe it or not, he did leave the Raiders better than he found them. If he were allowed to finish out the season, their record would be a lot better than it is right now.
Additionally: I also have 2 degrees and I'm not using either right now. I am, instead, killing bad guys and I am damn good at that! Does that qualify me to post here?

this shows how much you know about sports. it could happen, but don't count on it
