I have been a Vol fan my whole life and I have rooted for the Peyton Manning's and Eric Berry's every year. Like everyone else. But when I think back at what I believe to be the true VOLS of my lifetime I remember a kid I want to think late 80's early 90"s, and I want to say his name was Greg Simpson #38 (this is the clarification part) He was a back-up DB but was a gunner on Kick-offs I remember him nearly knocking himself out vs. UCLA one year. Just knowing this kid knew he wasn't going pro yet would sling himself into people like that still makes me smile 20 years later. To me that defines I I will give my all today for Tennessee" . ************************************************************************************ Feel free to share any little obscure moments like this that have made you the VOL fans you are today.

Not the person in which you're speaking, but Bill Bates is the one who reminds me of what you just said. Bates is one of my all time favorites.

One of my 3 all time favorites, that would fit in that category. IMO.

One of my all-time favorites was LB Kelly Ziegler -Probably one of the best LB's ever at Tennessee! Him and Dale Jones

Al Wilson of course Travis Stephens (senior year was awesome) Gibril Wilson (juco but knocked some heads) , as much as some hated Casey Clausen brought it on most every Gameday (collar bone in Arky game and Away game specialist)

I gotta say Crompton. You want to talk about determination, this kid never gave up after all the BS 99% of us put him through. I wont forget about him, atleast the last 5 or 6 games.
