Vegas: Vols at 15:1 to win SEC championship in 2017

1. As an OC 2. On a play that will never happen again. Let's be real here

Yeah, I could have been the OC for that Cam Newton team and won a NC. That team that Gus beat Saban with, was luckier than UT with the Stoerner fumble. A kick 6 and the hail mary that bounced right into Ricardo Louis' hands against Georgia. Gus, will probably, get fired this year. If that play against LSU, last year, had counted, Miles would still be coaching at LSU and Gus would be an OC, somewhere else. OAD is exactly right.

VegasInsider.com gives the Vols 15:1 odds to win the SEC this year.

Says Bama is the odds-on favorite to win it all, of course, with LSU second.

Georgia and Florida both ahead of the Vols, with every other team in the East way behind those three.

For that matter, only six teams in the conference have anything close to a reasonable chance of winning in Atlanta in December: Bama, LSU, and Auburn from the West, joining the three East contenders.

Here's the link: http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/story.cfm/story/1848652/

I'm putting $100 down on easy money!

Vegas is usually right.. the is reason most go home broke

Funny things about odds like these...Vegas will be right no matter who wins the SEC...because they didn't give ANY team a 0% chance.

Because, of course, Vegas isn't predicting anything...they're just assigning probabilities to each of the many things that could happen, and making money off the natural spread of people betting money on one or the other choice. :)

I love my Vols but man,I have been burnt too many times betting on them over the years back when I gambled. Now it's just watching and enjoying the good times and hoping the bad times are less and less.

Ding ding ding. Vegas isn't in the "prediction business." Championship odds and point spreads are not Vegas predictions on the outcome of the game. They can be used as proxies for that (e.g., if a 28 point favorite wins by a TD, it is probably fair to conclude that the favorite played badly) but that is not the purpose of a point spread.

Yay... Playing 4 of the top 5 teams yet again... we never catch a break in scheduling SEC west opponents

I note that our West opponent (not counting Alabama) always seems to have a great season in the season they play us, then the wheels come off the next year (too bad for LSU in 2018!).

They sold Vanderbilt short after whipping our butt last year.
