VegasInsider.com gives the Vols 15:1 odds to win the SEC this year.
Alabama 5/9
LSU 11/2
Auburn 7/1

Georgia 15/2
Florida 10/1
Tennessee 15/1

Texas A&M 40/1
Arkansas 50/1
Mississippi State 60/1

Kentucky 80/1
Ole Miss 80/1
South Carolina 80/1
Missouri 150/1
Vanderbilt 150/1
Says Bama is the odds-on favorite to win it all, of course, with LSU second.

Georgia and Florida both ahead of the Vols, with every other team in the East way behind those three.

For that matter, only six teams in the conference have anything close to a reasonable chance of winning in Atlanta in December: Bama, LSU, and Auburn from the West, joining the three East contenders.

Yay... Playing 4 of the top 5 teams yet again... we never catch a break in scheduling SEC west opponents

Seems that way, for sure in the past several years.

Using this ranking of SEC teams:

Vols play #1, #2, #4, #5.
Gators play #2, #4, #6, #7.
Dawgs play #3, #5, #6, #9.

Certainly looks like UGa has the easiest path to Atlanta from the East. No surprise they're favored by most pundits this off-season.

At least we have LSU instead of Auburn. If Malzahn actually has decent QB play this year, they could challenge Alabama with the depth and experience they are returning in the rest of the offense.

I'll be very happy when other teams look at their one day and say "damn, we gotta play Tennessee this year? We never catch a break".

We have an older QB with some passing talent. We're not deep at WR but our TEs should help. Really need Jones and Murphy to make it.
Because we can't rely on our Run game to lead us to victory.
Dormady converting 1st downs is the make our break star offensivly. We're not good enough passing our running to take over games...

Our speed and depth on defense is key.

Wiggins
D Taylor
Warrior can completely change our defense.
If they step up.

So when you're reading odds, is 15:1 like saying for every 15 chances we would get, we would win it once? Or like a 7.5 % chance of winning the SEC? No bueno

It's a 1/15 chance of winning, with a 15 to 1 payout on the wager if we did.

Translates to a 6.67% chance of winning the SEC according to Vegas at the moment. It's equivalent to saying "Tennessee is in the SEC, so technically they could win it."

1. they got a very good qb transfer.

2. auburn finds a way to put a championship quality team on the field about every five years.

Exactly what I was thinking. It's like a giant mystery, and then there they are undefeated, playing for a natty, or should be yet on probation or something. Weirdest school ever.

From the looks of this list, the "big 6" in the SEC have returned to their "rightful" place.

If Auburn just beats Georgia and Bama, I'll be happy.
And LSU beats Florida and Bama.
And aTm beats Florida
And Georgia beats Florida
And SCAR beats Georgia
And Mercer beats Bama...lol

...Ok, Ok, I'm a high maintenance guy!
