Odds to Be Next Tennessee Head Coach After Jeremy Pruitt Fired – Billy Napier and Jamey Chadwell Top Favorites
If you want to know how to start back a program and be successful immediately then look to no other than UAB Bill Clark. They done away with the football program completely and since bringing it back they have been in bowl game every year.

Will Healy has resurrected two football programs. APSU literally from the dead. They cut scholarship football in the mid 2000s. Then they brought it back in 2010. For 7 years they never won more than three games. Healy goes 8-4 in his second season while recruiting the best FCS class ever. In the history of FCS recruiting. Healy then takes Charlotte, which was a pure dumpster fire, and turns them around . Chadwell kind of caught lightening in a bottle. I’m actually friends with three people on their staff. It’s fun and it’s quirky with what they do at Coastal. It seems like it plays well with younger guys, but Chadwell would have to massively change his offensive philosophy if he wants to win in the SEC. his high school offense will get demolished here.

I like Will Healy, but he is really young, right? Still, he's another Tennessee boy, like Chadwell.

I think I've heard that Chadwell is willing to tailor his offense to his talent. I know that they had a magical run this year, but it's not the first time he's had success. He has never won less than 8 games in year 2, and he has been a proven winner at every stop he's had.

Also, the NCAA stuff is getting wildly overblown with him. At Charleston Southern his kids had leftover money after they bought their books, and the people in the campus bookstore told them that they needed to spend it of they wouldn't get it back. So they bought random stuff with their stipends, which was against the rules. That's not a nefarious scheme, and in reality it's something that would never happen at UT when they are holding their hands the entire way.

People said Urban's offense wouldn't work in the SEC. They said Gus's offense wouldn't work in the SEC. They said Butch's offense wouldn't work in the SEC. I think that if you coach the guys to execute with precision, a whole lot of things can work in the SEC.

That High school offense was ranked 18th in the country. BYU one of the top defenses in the country didnt stop it.

That offense has a variety of ways to attack. it put up almost 2,800 yards passing 30 tds and over 2,700 yards rushing. Thats called BALANCE.

I agree with 100 percent on W Healy though.

But Coastalś offense is not some high school offense. You put a Jaliyn Hyatt at WR. A Cody Brown and Dee Beckwith RB in Coastals offense last year. and you may have 3500 yards passing 3,500 rushing.

And his offense is closer to what Meyer does.

But itś own thing. Itś like pro-set, pistol spread offense. And they run option out of it.
You create mismatches all over the field. Players are very interchangeble. Dont have to have a strong armed QB, but it would work much better with one. Coastal had a ton of explosive PASS plays.

One can hope for a good hire but let's be honest, we don't have any history that would be convincing many of being hopeful. If it's done right we can get a good coach but I suspect it's Google Coach V.4

I have the feeling Billy Napier wont leave his current job to coach Tennessee and Tennessee wont make the risky move of hiring Jamey Chadwell.
Risky as in unproven coach at the SEC level? Or risky because of history at Chas. South.? Because the Chas Southern stuff has been discussed and vetted, and I believe attributed to a compliance officer at CSUniv. You are not likely to get a seasoned SEC experienced coach. I'll take Jamey Chads right now.

If you can get the right coach, recruiting will improve immediately and make up for some of the losses from the portal. Malzahn is that guy

They were top 5 in yards per play last season, if I'm remembering correctly.

I'd take Luke Fickel in a heart beat. He has the pedigree and absolutely over-performed at Cinci this year. He's a good coach but my concern is his heart is possibly with the Big10..... that's conjecture on my part though. His chance to win at an SEC school would be compelling for him.

That means it will be Jeff Fisher, or Jerod Mayo.
