Vandy

I'll catch some heat for this post, mostly along the lines of "wtf do we care what vandy does" but here's my take........if our season was less than what we had hoped for, I for one take great consolation sitting back, eating chips, and watching candy implode after not making the playoffs. They got DP tweeting Trump asking for an executive order. They are playing around with lawsuits over the process being 'corrupt.' They are posting in depth data analysis charts showing all of the reasons they feel they should be in cfp. The list just goes on and on. Like I said, it's just a consolation prize, but I'm here for it.
Gotta say that I'd rather be witching about their issues than what we're dealing with. First world vs third world to a degree.

I believe Oracle is moving the World HQ to Nashville. I assume he'll have, if he doesn't already have, a house, condo, something in Nashville.

His wife had previously had zero known donations to Michigan and dropped $10M for Bryce Underwood like it was nothing.

He's worth about $250B. Vandy would be crazy not to cultivate a relationship for donations with someone that wealthy who chose to put his business in Nashville.
needs to buy the titans from clueless amy.

Would you rather see the #1 5star QB at Vandy or at UGA with all their top talent?

As big of a douche as he has been pretty much since the first time i heard his name, he ran that offense like a machine against us. I know our defense was not up to par by any standards this year but a well executed triple option is tough to stop and they were firing on all cylinders that night. Mix it with our inability to adapt or focus on tackling and i hope jared curtis is overrated. I also hope our defense gets alot better.

Kinda sounds like they have the next Pavia. Oh joy.

I say UGA. I'm numb to losing to UGA. Kirby owns Heupel. Losing to vandy OTOH no so much. That leaves a mark.
Yeah... Stings a little. I can deal with losing Aguilar next year if Pavia loses that lawsuit. Ill take that tradeoff. He's everything to Vandy and they'll come crashing back to earth without him. I'll be here to be petty and waller in it..

I don't blame Vandy. I'd be selling my case also. We had a chance to end their chance didn't.
Don't want to hear the who they played talk, ND gets away with it every year and B1G schools so why not anyone else.
Honestly I could see them winning a first round game depending on who they got matched with.
They pulled back the 5* QB from GA, 3* WR from Bama(yeah they were both from Nashville but still), will probably buy well in the portal as well.
We did great on signing day yesterday but we still things to work on
Vandy coach plays to win, before the Vandy game when people were saying we were gonna whoop them, it's Vandy. I said their coach and Pavia has them believing and that makes them dangerous and we saw how that game went, heck Vandy coach looks like he could put on pads and go out and play for few downs if they needed him to...

I hate Vandy as much as the next guy....but if the shoe were on the other foot, we would be burning mattresses.

I just feel this shows the bias of a CFP committee and how they can swing the narrative to fit what they want.

To me, the P4 leagues need to come up with what should be considered in the decisions and have some person smarter than me set up a computer platform that data is entered into and the criteria is crunched and the top teams come out of it.

And there should be zero guaranteed spots. Computer calculates top 12 teams based on agreed to criteria and then we roll.

If we were 10-2 and getting left out, we'd be going nuts. X would be burning down.
If you have 2 losses, you've put yourself at the mercy of the committee. The truth is, Vandy doesn't have much in terms of good wins. They have 0 wins over teams in the current top 25 of the CFP rankings. Now, part of that is because they just slaughtered us and knocked us out. But even so, with 2 losses, beating us just isn't good enough. Notre Dame is similar and is only in because their name is Notre Dame. Them getting in over Miami is an awful decision seeing as how we actually have a head-to-head result we can use in that scenario to help determine who goes. But back to my 1st sentence, Miami put themselves in a bad spot by losing 2 games they shouldn't have lost. Win just 1 of those, and they would have been in.

I agree if the shoe was on the other foot, we would be complaining but would we be doing the following? I sure hope not!

- Tweeting the President for an executive order
- Contemplating suing the NCAA and CFP
- And looking for a 13th game to try to make a case

They are insane. Complain like Texas and Miami - yes - but the above is over the top.

THIS! At 10-2 there are no guarantees. There were teams with 10-2 records left out last year.

That's why it's best if we slap them around to keep them as little brother.

Their best win is against the Vols but that ain't saying much given we didn't sniff a win against a winning team and the defense is one of the worst in the country.

I'd say we need a play in game on the same week as the conference championship games. Vandy and Notre Dame aren't doing anything this week..

But there is still no guarantee that either of those two will get in. Notre Dame may get bounced in BYU wins. And the ACC may get left out completely if Duke wins.

Then Duke will join the list of teams who did not make the playoffs that are whining.

I do think however that they are reacting to the fact that had UT finished at 10-2, beating both OU and them, UT would definitely be where OU is and in the playoffs. But that didn't happen and OU also beat Bama (which Vandy did not do) so OU took our spot and their spot.

Agree. Right now it looks like Georgia, Bama (regardless of the result of the game Saturday), A&M, Ole Miss and Oklahoma are getting in. No way they are letting a 6th SEC team in so Vandy and Texas are SOL. Frankly I’m surprised the SEC is getting 5 in.

Having said that, if Bama were to get blown out Saturday to give them a 3rd loss, it might cause the committee to hesitate.

First of all who cares if Vandy is in or out of the CFP. This 12 team format is nothing more than a way to create ESPN viewership for MONEY!! They probably dropped Notre Dame below Alabama so that just in case Duke beats Virginia in the ACC playoff, they will be able to move Miami (FL) in. They aren't going to let the ACC have ZERO teams. Let's look at the possible scenarios. PS Vandy has 0% chance of getting in, same as Texas
Scenarios
1. If Virginia beats Duke. The committee has a great sigh of relief. Because all 4 of the Power4 conferences have at least one team in.
2. This is their nightmare. Duke beats Virginia -- Georgia beats Alabama -- BYU beats Texas Tech. This is what I would love to see happen.
Then you would have 11 teams locked in. Ohio St. - Indiana - Georgia - BYU - Texas Tech - Duke - (Tulane/North Texas/James Madison) - Oregon - Tex A&M - Ole Miss - Oklahoma. Leaving 1 open spot.
This one spot would be between Notre Dame/Miami (FL)/Alabama. PS tell Vandy they will not get in over Notre Dame/Miami (FL)/Alabama

This year at this moment, there are 11 teams that should be considered as earned their way into a chance to win the National Championship. The Big 10-Ohio St., Indiana, Oregon. Since Indiana beat Oregon at Oregon, Oregon is out. The SEC-Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, Ole Miss. Because of this ridiculous 16 team conference with no divisions, these 4 teams only played each other twice. Alabama beat Georgia, Georgia Beat Ole Miss. Ole Miss is out. Tex A&M can cry to the SEC office. The Big 12-Texas Tech, BYU The ACC-Virginia, Duke Group of 5-None, they will never win a National Championship. But since we are so sensitive today, if you want to put a Group of 5 in every year where they get smoked have at it. Although this year the Group of 5 team might beat Virginia, then get obliterated by Ohio St. Giving Ohio St. basically a bye into the National Championship game.

The winner between Indiana and Ohio St. should be ONE Spot. The winner of Georgia and Alabama 2nd spot. The winner of Texas Tech and BYU 3rd Spot. The winner of Virginia and Duke the 4th spot. For you sensitive people out there add a Group of 5. One reason we have so many teams with 0 or 1 loss is because of these ridiculous 16, 18 team conferences with no divisions, schedules are not equal. Poor Tex A&M.
You would have a 5 team playoff. Rate them 1-5. Have THREE Byes and one play-in game. Georgia Ohio St. and Tex Tech get byes and Virginia against group of 5 as the play-in game.

I can't wait until they move it to a 16 team playoff. Then we will be arguing over teams with 3 and 4 losses deserving to be given a chance to be National Champion. A watered down socialist system.

I'd say at least 2 out of 3 of those choices would be very likely if we were in the same spot

I didn't care until they started making fools of themselves thus reflecting on the state and the SEC. They look like entitled children arguing with their parents.

The SEC was embarrassed last year - we will probably have 5 teams. Now we have a team that wants to be number 6.
