I'll catch some heat for this post, mostly along the lines of "wtf do we care what vandy does" but here's my take........if our season was less than what we had hoped for, I for one take great consolation sitting back, eating chips, and watching candy implode after not making the playoffs. They got DP tweeting Trump asking for an executive order. They are playing around with lawsuits over the process being 'corrupt.' They are posting in depth data analysis charts showing all of the reasons they feel they should be in cfp. The list just goes on and on. Like I said, it's just a consolation prize, but I'm here for it.

Because they know this may be their only shot for the next 50 years

Apparently they don't realize that the SEC has a lot of influence over the process, but not control.

While not officially part of the criteria, fan base travel is a consideration.

Tennessee may have had more fans at the Ohio State playoff game last year than Vandy gets for a home game.
Miami, BYU, and some other non SEC teams travel way better than Vandy, too.

Vandy may be marginal on the eye test, but they don't pass the smell test.

Give them credit for being really good this year. But they are the biggest bunch of whiners I've ever seen. Ever been to a game at vandy for football, basketball or baseball - they boo at every call that goes against them, even those that are totally blatant. What a bunch of entitled, sports illiterate babies.

You must not read many threads here. The world, espn, and officials only purpose is to hold Tn down…..

My concern with Vandy is if some of the big money companies that are moving to Nashville like Oracle get behind them.

It was Larry Ellison's wife who dropped $10M for Michigan to sign Underwood just out of nowhere. If she or Larry get involved at Vandy, they're well beyond stupid rich and make Phil Knight look like a pauper.

It is hilarious - what would be even more fuel on the fire is for DP to not get invited to the Heisman show. He more than likely will for the story but if he doesn't or he doesn't win, they will implode even more.

They did not even make the SEC championship game. They are not one of the four top teams in the conference.

And did DP really tweet the President? I thought that was a joke. If true, I hope whomever they play in a bowl game puts them in their place.

I personally would have enjoyed watching Vanderbilt play either Oregon or Ohio State or somebody like that.

Watching their fans melt down online is not that satisfying to me because (as a volunteer) my official position is that the dumb $h!t a school’s fan base does online doesn’t count. Just the good stuff.

When they beat Bama last year - it was a "feel good" story. This year at times was a "feel good" story. They have now entered the arrogant entitled stage with the whining because they do not get to "make their own rules".

Let candy go man. What your doing is exactly what they. Just let it go. They will find out very soon what their worth is.

We got a damn mess here.I had Vandy winning but not in a blow out.Don't know why banks didn't stack the box and made Pavia beat us with his arm.Now we got our QB saying we been practing soft.Maybe the strength and conditioning staff needs looked at also.

With the population rising in Nashville, let alone Tennessee, we don’t want them to all of a sudden believe they can hang. Bc if they believe their big money doners will pay. Then we have a real situation on our hands tbh.

I don't care if Vandy makes the playoffs, they curb stomped us on our home field! If we were 10-2 y'all would go crazy if we weren't in the playoffs. We had our chance to stop Vandy from even being considered, and got humiliated!!!!

Phil Knight graduated from Oregon. Ellison’s wife graduated from Michigan. Larry Ellison went to Illinois but dropped out. He has absolutely zero connection to Vandy other than his company having an office in the same city.

I believe Oracle is moving the World HQ to Nashville. I assume he'll have, if he doesn't already have, a house, condo, something in Nashville.

His wife had previously had zero known donations to Michigan and dropped $10M for Bryce Underwood like it was nothing.

He's worth about $250B. Vandy would be crazy not to cultivate a relationship for donations with someone that wealthy who chose to put his business in Nashville.

Losing to Vandy caused someone(s) to dig deep into their billfold...

and therefore, we have the most awesome recruiting class since '95 (and we all know how that worked out).

Therefore, thank you Candybilt. We needed the old-fashion kick in the butt.
