One of our assistants where I work is Hispanic. I always try to include the word “mucho” when speaking with her. It means a lot to her.
Yes growing up in East Tennessee in the 70s I had very few contacts with hispanic people . Then when I went to San Antonio Tx for basic I had never seen so many Hispanic people. My first permanent duty station my best buddy to this day Henry Amador was from Honduras . I even went to Miami to see his family. Being Cherokee lots of people sometimes mistake me for Hispanic. I love the Hispanic culture they believe in a close familia!

Our only chance to end this season with a single quality win. Beating UF might mean something for UT fans, but there is nothing quality a out beating them like everyone else they played.

No worries. This is going to be a piece of Pavlovia.

We will crush their cold, black and gold souls.

After the meltdown vs OU, I don't feel good about Tenn vs a crippled UF or Vandy. Pavia is a douche so I certainly hope they win that one. Still very glad Joey is here without him Tenn is 4-5 right now.

Hype is good as long as the game is going as he planned. Once the game gets tight, the O play calling becomes tepid, predictable and ineffective.

This year is what it is. Just kind of meh, no wins vs quality opponents.

UT/UF is a bum fight in the alley. Yeah I'd like UT to win (an avg SEC team should beat a below avg SEC team who fired their coach).

And its just sad UT could play spoiler for Vandy.

On principle alone, Tennessee needs to beat Vanderbilt to remind them of their place in the SEC when it comes to football.

The Vols will need a whole lot better effort across the board to beat Candy.

The vandy vs Tennessee game this year is going to be an epic up and coming out party. Both teams Qb were not highly sought after recruits that had to scratch and claw their way to be prominence. So who will be the one to shine in this battle both paces and angular deserve respect for their resolve to become relevant when lots of people overlooked them for 5 stars that never really worked out. This will be a game to watch if you love the underdog story because no matter who wins the underdog wins!
Epic - redwood forest sized dry, splintery, telephone pole being jabbed in every orifice of our football team. Based on what I’m seeing tonight.

I loved Lackland. Had my tech school there also. The Mexican food on the Riverwalk was excellent!

Ouch...I remember listening to John Ward. Truly awful, especially considering Tennessee had players like Reggie White, Bill Mayo, Reggie & Raleigh McKenzie, Alan Cockrell, Willie Gault, Bill Bates, Fuad Reveiz, etc.

Don't forget Mike Cofer and Jimmy Colquitt. The most talented 6-5-1 team ever. But they did beat Bama in epic fashion.

This will be a MUCH more important game for our program than any postseason bowl game. Motivation for BOTH teams should be over the top.
( I know…” thank you Captain Obvious “ )
I’m supporting Coach Heupel and the Big Orange regardless of the outcome. Hope all You’ns are too. The time for criticism and whining is over.
GBO..!!!!

Hope you’re right, but with the 2nd tier of SEC just getting tighter, I think the criticism and whining is going to be worse next year.

November 27, 1993. Tennessee 62 vandie 14 in Neyland. We were there, last game on Tartan Turf; have a framed piece of that surface on our wall at home. Watching this on YouTube at this hour, anticipating a similar result in 2 weeks.

I hope Pavia is running for his life the whole game ! We def have the advantage at home
I do too... the problem is he is good at running out of the pocket and making plays. our defense can't leave them wide open - our defense scares me the most by far in this game. he has the potential to light us up... we also have the potential to beat them badly... so who knows

Our defense has a bad habit of running past the quarterback when they are passing and letting them step up and run with the ball. That will be disastrous against Vandy. Stop Pavia from running at all cost. Make him throw to beat us. Be patient and put TWO spies on him if you have to. If he starts running it will motivate the rest of the team.

Yep I agree, he could gash us if we don’t keep somebody on him

This is my thinking when playing any primarily mobile QB like Pavia, Lagway, or Sellers. Those guys are by far the most dangerous in chaotic situations when plays break down. Letting them beat you with their arm will always be the best way to deal with them, but it takes a lot of gap discipline, not something this defense has been great with this season.
