i don't expect a blow out. i can see us coming out a little flat after last week's performance. Vandy's D is pretty good, but other than Bennett they don't have a ton offensively to offer.
in the interest of honoring my "no picks" for the rest of this year, cause honestly, this year has been so whacko, i'll say the keys to this game are:
1. run the ball. VAndy has a pretty good def and has been known to get to the qb. i expect more short passing game, and some screens. one thing we didn't do a lot last week was screens to the RB, i can see us doing some of that in lieu of the runnig game at times to ease any pressure Vandy may be able to get. but i also expect at least 30-35 carries for the RB's this game.
2. stop Earl Bennet. the difference this week vs. last week is the go to guy is the WR. and Vandy is a little more balanced, though not great, offfensively. we won't be able to put 8 guys up front and play man outside. i expect some more zone, and blitizing on 1st down to take them out of good down and distance. put them in 3rd and long as often as possible. get the def off the feild as often as possible.
3. intangibles. win the turnover battle. last week's 0 turnovers was huge, and i expect that to continue this week. Sr. day. a lot of emotion on the feild early on, can they control it and use it correctly. Vandy needs one more win for bowl elgibility and they don't fear TN.
but hell, i won't be surprised by anything the way this year has gone.....
