Long story short, yes. Neither party should commit until they are really committed. One way to enforce this is to make both sides honor commitments.

Please read this before continuing with transfer talk!!! This is Kyle's uncle telling you that nothing is happening with regards to a transfer.

Mason as a DC would not hurt his NFL stock. Only problem is Mason will probably be fired before Phillips would transfer from the JUCO to Vandy.

I met Kyle tonight in Tampa. He was awesome to my kids and was cool taking pics with them. I wanted so bad to ask him if he would give me a good quote to post on Volnation, but just couldn't do it.

I would like to see an early signing period for football,say at the first of July,that way a lot of recruits could sign and the coaches can work on the undecided then and still have the big signing day

He was great! All the players I met were, but Kyle really stood out. He asked my family questions and talked about getting healthy. Was a neat young man. I was impressed with him, very humble.

We need to be careful on how we share information on these student athletes....Especially the untrue information. He is playing for UT--don't read anything into this. Thanks, for the compliment he is a humble young man-- our family is very pleased of him. I know its hard to believe but he is not playing for anyone but UTK.

Kyle Phillips was imo the crown damn jewel of this past recruiting class (and yes I know the class also included Mckenzie and Tuttle). But theres just something about Philips. Maybe because of the family he comes from. Or that he's a true Tennesseean. Or the he went freaking nuts in that all American game. But I was as excited to see him as anyone this year. I'd bet my life he's a kid Butch will make damn sure is happy with his role and place here.
These transfer rumor threads almost never have any truth to them.
