Vandy Rivals board thinks Kyle Phillips is transferring.

I am embarrassed to admit that I actually took the time to got to his site. There is nothing on there about Phillips and I hadn't heard this. It doesn't mean he is always wrong but he has been known to float garbage and then wait to see if anyone stops to smell it. Just have to wait and see, I guess.

you have to scroll down through monday's info. Here is what was posted on Basillio's site:

"WILD CARD WORRIES: As is the case with every major program in the country, there are rumblings about several players bolting from the UT program in the offseason. Freshman DE Kyle Phillips endured an frustrating, injury-plagued first season, but showed real promise...."

Goes on to speculate about another TN player but that's it about Phillips. No real info.

Yeah, I see it now and the bit about Dormady and Kamara. No doubt he could have some bad influences in his ear including DeVinner. I'm sure the staff is on this. Just have to hope he sees the opportunity to start next fall and that this should be a very good defense next year. It makes no sense for him to leave.

I have mixed feelings about Basilio. His show was always more interesting to listen to than most talk radio in Knox but his rumor info is often shaky. We'll see.

Of course he is transferring to Vandy, I'm sure he would rather lose 9-10 games a year and see his NFL stock plummet as opposed to playing on the big stage and winning championships. Vandy's fan board has their only two fans posting anyway so it is easy to narrow down where the rumor come from. I guess my main thought is who really knew Vandy had a football forum anyway? They badly try to play football there.

I think the recent increase in transfers is hurting college football. I would also say the same thing about the "commitment" issue in recruiting. Personally, I think when you make a commitment to a school, you should be obligated to honor your commitment except for extraordinary circumstances. This would apply to both the recruiting and playing part of an athletes career. Just my opinion, for whatever its worth. Go VOLS :)

Does the SEC still have a rule if you sign an LOI with an SEC school, it requires you to sit out two years if you want to transfer to another SEC school?

For what it's worth, he (Phillips) was retweeting Tennessee Outback bowl stuff two days ago. I'm not about to pay to see Vandy's site, but I'm assuming that if there was anything concrete in there, other sources would have it (besides The Basilio Show). Kudos to the OP for raising the issue (kind of the point of having a message board like this), but I cannot imagine there being anything real to it.

I completely disagree. Why give kudos to someone posting a rumor from a Vandy message board or Basilio (of all people)? Maybe we should just start posting the rumors that a BamaBoard poster wants to share of a rumor that he heard from his second cousin. Good grief.

I asked Kyle, "Who is the Vandy booster is in our family?" -- he does not know either.....So, if anyone knows the a big Vandy booster in our family let me know --I would love to speak with them.....

As long as they do not forfeit, they cannot perform much worse than last year unless they intentionally blow games.
