He must look terrible in practice. I think he just wants a crappier OLine to impress coaches

I lurked long before I started posting, and it seems as though it Just gets worse and worse, hiding behind the ole "it's a message board" deflection.

Normally [other team] message board says....

Is a tell tale sign

Certainly hope Phillips doesnt transfer. Honestly I think the NCAA needs to make the transfer rules more stringent than what they are now. I think the recent increase in transfers is hurting college football. I would also say the same thing about the "commitment" issue in recruiting. Personally, I think when you make a commitment to a school, you should be obligated to honor your commitment except for extraordinary circumstances. This would apply to both the recruiting and playing part of an athletes career. Just my opinion, for whatever its worth. Go VOLS :)

If a player has to honor a verbal commitment should all colleges be held to the same Standard? I think it's pretty ridiculous we as fans get mad at a verbal changing his mind, when colleges make offers but can and do pull them off the table all the way up to signing day. Didn't butch himself have a player who was fully committed reopen his recruiting because they found a better player? Now the kid turned away all other offers and he's screwed. Didn't seem fair is all

I checked Kyle Phillips twitter account to see if this might be true. He just retweeted Byron De'vinner. Think of that what you want.

Yeah I understand your point on the commitment thing. And honestly Im not trying to be biased toward UT about it. I just think the word "commitment" should mean more than what it does. Honestly, the increase in transfer numbers bothers me more than the recruiting part. I would love to see how Volnation wpuld be reacting right now if we were Texas A & M with losing two blue chip quarterbacks to transfer. No doubt, we would all be having a melt down. I know it's just the way it is, but I dont like it. Go Vols :)

And I understand your sentiment. Your solution just ain't realistic. Volnation has had to deal with plenty on the subject of young men changing their mind or making hasty decisions...and we've also benefitted from it. Part of the madness that makes this sport both painful and fun.

I guess youre right as there are some things that dont have a solution. Youve gotta agree though that if we were A and M right now half the state of Tennessee would cease to exist. Who knows, maybe it will benefit us when we play them next year. Go Vols :)

Phillips wants to join a team on the rise, which will be contending for championships very soon. That team is Vandy

Agree! In reality, who could blame him? Vandy will be contending for the SEC in the next two years.

Uh. I mean I checked both accounts. De'vinner says can't wait to see you ball next year. And then he tells Phillips rehab sucks but you will be 100% next year. No where does it imply he's transferring

This doesn't make sense at all. He'll be starting next year, if not, at least a major contributor on arguably one of the conferences most talented d-lines. On a team that has a shot at a potential conference championship. To give that up for Vanderbilt ?!Or anyone else ?! Nah bruh.
