That would be impossible - George was an All - American running back and Vandy gouged and badly injured his eye in a pileup. He rightfully hated all things Vandy.

I’m actually hoping they win 2 games this year against the cats . I do have to wonder though if a program has ever gone winless in the conference in both football and basketball in the same season? Seems like that would be a pretty impressive feat.

When he retired he was presented with an orange and white van. It was a used van that the Lady Vols BB team had been using. He just left it in the parking spot and never took it.

dad oftent mentioned vandy and cafego in the same sentence and i was told he pumped his fiists when told the vols had won in 2014. that was about two weeks before he passed.

he never missed their meetings in knoxville beginnimg in the lmid 50s. best guess was that latest time he saw them in person was 2011 or 2009

I got to listen to Gus talk before a basketball game several years ago. Honestly, if he had kept talking (and God knows he could have!), I would have gladly stayed and missed the game.
