Could be bad for Vandy though. Their fan base isn't big enough to survive the attrition from the murders they will undoubtedly experience playing in Memphis.

They'll be laughing at us for losing to Kentucky and not making a bowl game...

A lower ranked bowl is better for Vandy, gives them the best chance to win and finish with a winning record.

No they will get a BigEast team. Something in the Birmingham Bowl contract says that if the SEC doesn't send a team then the BigEast gets bumped up to the Liberty Bowl. Probably will play Cincinnati, Rutgers or Pittsburgh.

More evidence of Vandy's culture change, IMO.

Hometown bowl decided they wouldn't get a big enough turnout.

They went 6-6 in 2008. It isn't like its the first time ever. How quickly they forgot about the Steve Martin years. He asked for facility upgrades too, but they ignored him so he quit a week before last season started.

Nashville doesn't want Vandy in the Music City Bowl. How much $ is that going to bring in?

Vandy didn't come close to selling out LP field in '08, they'll likely never get invited back unless there is no other choice for the MCB.

We will see if Vandy will really support their team and travel a measly 4 hours west to see their team. If they can't support that bowl, what bowl would want them in the future?

Vandy has rented 2 school buses to take their fans to the murder capital of Tennessee in a 1st class manner. They promise a pecan log from Stuckey's as light hors d'oeurves on the ride over.

Cincinnati will have more fans than Vandy and it won't even be close. I went to the Music City Bowl in 2008 and Boston College fans outnumbered Vandy fans.

Why would anyone think they would?

Dudley Field holds about 30k less than LP, they can't fill the home side of that stadium.

MCB will never want Vandy again. They'll pick Hawaii Hair Dresser Tech before Vandy.
