Vandy is plenty good enough to beat UT

Watching Vandy today on the road against a top 10 team is eye openning. I'm sure Vandy won't end up winning, but they sure aren't backing down. If UT fans don't buy all the tickets up for the UT game, Vandy can get their fans into the game and easily beat Tennessee. I see a 4th loss on the horizon unless a totally different Tennessee shows up the next three weeks.

I agree. Comparing the TN team from last week to the Vandy team today; TN would be the underdog against Vandy.

The Vandy defense has been good all year. Auburn missing White doesn't mean much for a TN/Vandy matchup. Auburn's defense is significantly better than TN's defense, and Vandy is ripping through it like Swiss cheese.

It's game day and we don't have anything better to talk about besides firing Butch, Jalen Hurd, and how teams we have to play could beat us. I wish freak would just stick a "I think we suck this year" thread on the top of the forum for merging all the we suck threads. Reading threads this entire week has been more demoralizing than losing to USC. Our fanbase is insanely fragile.

Butch Jones has recruited much better than Vandy for several years, so why is Vandy's defense much much better than UT's Bob Shoop defense?

Physicality!
3 years in the same system that squashed the high powered Oregon offense annually is starting to pay off.

A straight up smash mouth offense would work better than the spread offenses against VU

Vandy's defense looks good, but they are also playing a backup QB who makes Dobbs passing ability look prolific...

Agree that offensively they look better than normal, but lets not over react here. Pretty sure the majority of this site is just looking for another reason to freak out

They wouldn't stay there. They need to stress how much we suck in the "What's on the grill?" thread. :)

As a DC, the conclusion could be Mason is better than Shoop this year. It is Shoop's first year at TN and Mason's 3rd at Vandy though. Vandy' defense did not look good at all during Mason's first year at Vandy.

They gave Auburn that goal line fumble TD that Pig Howard was denied against Georgia...costing us the game.

Vandy is plenty good and FWIW, Kentucky beat Vandy last month.
