Vandy is better than TN

IMO the closet Pavia has got to playing in Neyland was when they met Bama in a day game in Tuscaloosa. Bama won 30-14 I think Pavia had less than 200 passing.
I think Neyland will be louder but Bama has a better D although the young Vol D is playing better.
I was thinking I was the only one that noticed that of D is improving. Kinda started with the Sooners. They scored 16 in the first half, and only 3 of them I would hang on the D. Pretty much shut down Florida. Redmond is now a good CB matching up with Hood. Farooq is improved and McMurray is serviceable. We outgained Oklahoma by over 100 yards and still lost. Turnovers cost us the game not terrible defense. We don't gift the commode doors points (ala Bama and the sooners) they don't score 30 on us. Final all vols 45-24! GBO!!

Which is why the crowd at Neyland needs to be elite on Saturday. If you’re there, lose your voice. Unbearable noise every time they’re on offense. Punish Pavia. Let’s make his ears bleed.
This. I have never left Neyland with my speaking voice intact...and scream my head off EVERY defensive snap. NOT just 3rd down. I was raised, and taught; right.

D been playing better since Boo has been benched. We’ve finally got 11 instead of 10 playing on the field.

I'll open with the fact that I hope we win. Now that I got that out of the way, the reality is that we haven't beat ANY team that matters this season. Vandy, at #14, matters. Regardless of how today's game turns out, I can't help but believe we took a step backwards this year. Imagine how much worse this season would have been if the current UCLA QB1 hadn't transferred. We caught a serious break when Aguilar arrived. But that only highlights the point of still slipping back even with an upgrade (Aguilar) at QB. Yes, we've had injuries LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. There were three games on our schedule that we knew were going to test us - we lost all three. And while the season unfolded, a fourth team (and test) emerged; Vanderbilt. GoVols!
