Phillip Fulmer is not going to be interested in any SEC job that puts him in a position of coaching against his school, The University of Tennessee. He has NO INTEREST whatsoever of being in that position.

if you keep track of all the reports that get released on a daily basis you will find many more wrong than right. on most subjects.

Never said he owned UT.

Liek most graduates from schools, he tends to cling to it as his school. Shouldn't be a surprise or shock to anyone. Probably moreos with him than majority of graduates due to playing and working there though. All that meant.

Not one time have I spoken of his qualifications or lack of qualifications for the AD job. Even in the post you are responding to. You are reading far more into the statement than is there.

Dooley can also be asked about the players "run off" and how happy he would be if many had not been "run off".

I honestly believe that when he said he still wanted to "coach" that he didn't really mean it. He may not have admitted it to himself yet but I don't think he's gonna leave the Tennessee umbrella.

I tend to agree. think he was serious for trying to find something for 2009 but not just anything. Wanted something that there was a chance for some success.

family is important to him and I think it would have ended up being difficult to pull trigger on any job. Besides, he is retirement age which makes continuing to work hard when you don't have to.

probably would have been happy with any of them. depth, they have died for depth needs this season. showed up in with the running game and with the need to have to play so vanilla on offense. Would have loved some of the experience that they would have had if the players were still here.

Creer? yes sir. not happy with the two backup guys to Poole at all right now so yes they would lvoed to have had Creer here this year to help Poole and the OL.

bad depth really doesn't help a team that's already struggling. Maybe on the practice field but I can't see any of the OL that left being worth a spot (except AD)

the names are obvious. everyone knows who left and I said they would love to have had any of them. DEPTH WAS / IS a HUGE issue this year and proved to be a huge issue. Complained about it all year.

It would be helpful to know the names of the offensive linemen who were "run off" as you say because I don't know of any who are contributing anywhere else. If they cannot contribute anywhere else why would I think they could contribute at UT?

They could contribute as much as Cody or Gooch has, any of those that left no matter what they are doing now. Bailey started this year at Middle. I'm feel comfortable he could have provided some snaps this year.

I'll back off the phrase "run off" and change to players which left for any reason. if those offensive linemen could have been retained, CDD, CJC and CHH would have been much ahppier this year.

why would he at least make vandy respectable? when has he had to rebuild something? who would run to vandy to play for him?

was not the intent of my previous question. you said Fulmer had never rebuilt anything (or something like that) but he assisted with rebuilding Tennessee from 1981 through 1992.. was on the staff that rebuilt Tennessee from the ugly 70s.
