I am one of a few UT fans that don't want the team to play this game. It is a lose-lose for the fan and team. We win, no grounds to fire JP, lose and become more of a laughing stock in the SEC. My opinion is that it is a catch 22.

It's only a catch 22 if we lose, and keep Pruitt another year (or two).

I don’t think it’s anything to brag about. However, it’s Vandy. I always want to kick the crap out of Vandy no matter what. Let the sacrifice begin.

If I were a vandy fan, I'd flat out DEMAND we play this game. They're playing with house money in this one. Not one thing to lose other than a game that everyone expects them to lose. No pressure in that locker room at all. It's all on UT in this one. All I know is that for those vandy players who haven't opted out, I'd have to think playing the game of football really means something. They're going to go out there and give UT one helluva punch I would guess. They can let it fly. Play fast and play loose. Likely won't be nearly enough, but UT better not take this one lightly. Hope they remember they've got a bowl bid on the line. :rolleyes:

Just think of how much money UT spent on buyouts trying to be cheap and having to pay buyouts. Id (hopefully soon) cornbread is fired, add it to the list. Could have hired a real coach with all the money we spent....that's what's sad.

That is a bunch of BS. The AD is over ALL sports not just football. The rest of UT's sports teams are doing good. I get you don't like Fulmer and Pruitt but you are just wrong about Fulmer as the AD. He gave Pruitt an extension too soon. He made a mistake but have you never made a mistake?

So bad coaching justifies bad fan behavior? Dang.... that could get ugly. So I guess Pruitt should make some bad moves on purpose to get back at the fans..... Sorry, no justification in my household for classless behavior. Many of the posts oh here can't clear the class hurdle....

Where did I say that? I was responding to coaches worrying about fans pulling for a loss (I guess you could consider that bad behavior). If a coach shows competence and is winning, that doesn't happen. Where is my statement wrong or justifying bad behavior?

This was the game where the Vandy player had said the week before something like “we’re coming for you Bama.” All the Nashville radio sports shows were like “this is how teams should approach Bama. The Vols always act scared of them. Bama is just a bully and you can’t back down or they will keep pushing you around.” It all sounded good for the week, then the game happened. Bama held Vandy to 77 yards on offense. After the game Bama players said they felt personally disrespected by Vandy players that talked trash before the game.
