Vanderbilt vs Florida (ESPN)

A case study of the difference between a team finding ways to win vs finding ways to lose. The East was ours for the taking and we let the Gators take it. Definitely a season of "what could have been"...

Tenn has a knack for shooting itself in the foot. Next year is going to be special.

A lousy 12 yard punt by the Dores put the Gators in a good field position to win it. The dores handed that game to Fla.

So sick of this being brought up. We lost a game or two that yes we could have won. It sucks but it happened and it's not changing. This team has gotten better and seems to be clicking on all cylinders and have a shot to win 9 games this year. That would be a great year in year 3 of a rebuild that seemed impossible given how horribly inept we were across the board.

Move on.

Of course we can't get it back, but for some, the Florida game each yr is even bigger than Bama. It leaves a really bad taste losing that game every year and even more excruciating when we blow it at the end. It's kind of like Michigan and Ohio St. where the game takes on enormous importance for the rivalry of it all.

Easy to say "move on" or "get over it"...

You're right though...not healthy to dwell on it.

No, not really. Florida handed Vandy 4 turnovers in Vandy territory, so their mistakes actually kept a Vandy team that completed 3 forward passes and had about 175 total yards in the game.

I get that, I am as big a UT fan as anyone. If UT losses, my family knows not to talk to me for a good 4-5 hours. I love UT as much as the next person and the Florida loss hurt bad, but they are playing South Carolina right now. Let's focus on how good they are playing instead of bringing up the Florida loss. At some point you have to move on from it. It's getting alittle ridiculous.

Ugly ass game but I'll take it at 8-1 with the east clinched these coaches have earned a little leeway with me

Thank God Hardin made that fg lol

Agreed. Just ridiculous when they kick a kid out of the game for that. I thought McCrary dropped his head a bit to make it a true helmet to helmet. Florida DE came around the corner with bad intentions, but it wasn't so bad that they should've run the kid. But then again, look at the targeting call that got Moseley tossed. These rules are just awful.
2 weeks in a row they've tosssed one of our guys for an awful targeting call

Last weeks was even worse

Really frickin hate that rule

They've got a defense...good special teams...and that's it.

Without steroids this Florida team loses to Tennessee and probably even Kentucky for that matter. The ole miss game would have been very different. I still can't get over how Florida wasn't disbarred from the SEC-CG after blatantly getting caught cheating mid-way through the season.

The 2010 SC team lost to a 6-6 KY team, so again I disagree.

The whole rule needs an overhaul. It's terribly inconsistent and half the officials don't know the rule anyways.

I just assume there are more dirty refs than we'd care to know about. It always baffles me how very simple calls can be botched by veteran referees who have 1 job (like spotting the ball or measuring for the 1st down). There is zero accountability for referees, even at the highest level.

They are a disgrace to the sport in their current state. Incompetent and negligent to point where you just get suspicious. It's a wet dream of mine for someone to "blow the whiste" on a legitimate referee scandal in college football. You know it's going on.

well said Kirby. The inaccuracies between the officials and replay are baffling. I think there should be more than one in the replay booth too. So many calls get called wrong it seems when 90% of the ppl and announcers see it another way?!? WTF?!?

You mean Outzen? Who beat your crap team a month earlier?

Yep. Outzen beat UF in 1998.

Please don't confuse UT and FSU being better than UF in 1998 with UT also being very lucky to win the NC in 1998.

UT got Outzen instead of Weinke in the national title game, but not before Clint Stoerner literally handed UT a gift in Neyland.

But sure, this UF team is the luckiest CFB team of all time....1984 BYU also disagrees with you. :eek:lol:
