We spend most of all vol life acting like vandy not real. All they have to do acting tough for us to let our hate out. They are like a splinter. The hate fester and all it takes is something small and it just all comes out. God, I love college football.

Over a century ago, Vandy was THE rivalry. From 1892 through 1913, the Vols had a 0-10-1 record in their first 11 games against the ‘Dores. I have read that when UT finally beat them in 1914, classes were canceled the following Monday so that students could continue to celebrate!
Neyland was hired to beat Vandy. We beat Vandy just twice in 24 tries from 1892 to 1926.

From 1926 (when Neyland was hired) to 1940, and then from 1946 to 1952 (second stint), we lost to Vandy a total of 3 times.

I think it would be far more interesting for the Tennessee-Vandy game to actually mean something—maybe the winner gets a playoff spot and the loser is out? Would be more satisfying to beat the ‘Dores with those stakes on the line than just another game with little to no drama. Might actually make this a legit rivalry.
Nah, I like it the way it is. It is a Thanksgiving tradition whipping the fire out of the sweater vests.

Don't know what they are smoking, but that's 4 losses right there. Vandy isn't sneaking up on Texas, Lsu, Auburn, and especially Bama! Bama- 42-20. Revenge.

Alabama is going to murder them.

Now with the playoff era, they can probably get in at 10-2 so they could lose to Alabama and Texas and make it but they are not going 10-2. They will be lucky to be 6-6.

This is a shining example of why history does not need to repeat itself. Why would we long for being in competitive games with them? If UT is back to knock-down-drag-out matches with Vandie it would be rock bottom all over again.

Vandy doesn't even have the fan support to be good. They also recruit in the 30s... they couldn't even finish in the top 3 of most of the G5 conferences.

Why should be care what Vandy thinks? It's absolutely their prerogative to think that way. Good for them. We have our own problems and things to worry about. I hate Vandy, but they have every right to think that way. I would hope every HC would have and want his players thinking this way. Way better than not having any goals. I'm sure our players feel this way too and hope they do. We aren't winning the CFP this year, but the players and fans have every right to feel this way. Same with our fans really caring that Syracuse fans think they can win. Hell, our fans actually thought we could beat Ohio St last year even though the chances were slim to none. Every fans right to feel how they want.

I hope Vandy beats them again. There's no world where I can pull for Alabubba to win.

Umm did they suddenly stack top 5 recruiting classes when we weren’t looking? Because if no then seems like 6-6 again…

1-0 on their way. On the road at Va Tech this weekend. Who see them going 2-0?

The most Vanderbilt thing would be to blow a game like this where they are actually a favorite on the road.

When was the last time Vandy was a road favorite?
