Vanderbilt? Really?!?!?!

I think his point was that our offense with Bray is greater than Vandy's offense with Rodgers.

which has what relevance to this conversation? Bray isn't guaranteed to play, and even if he does, it sounds like he won't be 100%. Not to mention he didn't exactly dominate against UGA without Hunter, and Hunter won't be back for this game.

Yep... If they lose to Vandy it was because they were the better team, believe it or not. We could also throw coaching in there. Lay another second half stinker out there and i'd go along with that as well.

Now look at how we did. How we lost to the same exact opponents. You tell me that Vandy isn't playing better football than we are at this point.

Dang it, son. There you go using a truthful analysis. Statistics in the hands of amateurs is so much more fun when you like Dool-aid.

If (big if) we beat Vandy with Bray back in the line-up it will be because this team selectively plays with max effort for who they want to and when they want to. There is zero evidence in the past 5 games to indicate that this game will be any different. How much effect did Bray have against UGA for 3 quarters? Nearly none. How do we finish games in the second half - badly. Now Bray will have timing issues with the WRs, who provide our only chance to score other than an infrequent defensive score.

No doubt, there are more holes in this team than swiss cheese. Blind hope and faith will carry them right on through until kickoff when it all shows up again. Tennessee is going to have to play their best game of the year , to yeah, beat Vandy. Might help to come out of the locker room at halftime too. There are two halves to every game. It's a shame our team hasn't figured that out yet.

Please, oh, please let Bray play. I want to hear the excuses Sunday of how Bray was still hurt, they should have played Simms, Worley, yada, yada, yada.

no one said to make excuses. If UT performs like they should then this is a win. If they don't then it's possible they get beat. That holds true no matter what Vandy team shows up to Knoxville. That's my point and you can accept it or not. I truly don't care

I guess I implied you were wearing orange blinders by failing to realize that we are not as good as what you seem to believe. We have great skill players but our trenches are a mess and that is where the games are won. So please explain to me what you mean by "performs like they should" .. because we are what we are on paper at the end of the day, and that is a 4-6 ball club. Believing any otherwise is setting yourself up for disappointment. The we are UT and they are Vandy argument is getting stale... and you seem to be the posterchild for that particular argument.

Our offense with bray> Vandy offense with rodgers

Our Offense with Bray put up 80 yards and 16 points less than Vandys Offense with Rodgers did against Georgia. Same opponent. Same members of Offense on both sides. Removed by 1 week and both were away games for Georgia.

Our Offense with Bray also ammassed an impressive -29 yards rushing against UGA and UF. That is really impressive!

Totally agree - we see it the same way. It makes me sick physically to see it fall to the point that playing Vandy is gut wrenching. I don't see any focus, sense of urgency, or passion in this team. That falls back on the coaching staff - just as it did for Battle, Majors, Fulmer.

With or without Bray, I don't feel good about Vandy. Thus far, they have shown to be a better team this year. They are playing better.

I do feel (somewhat) confident against UK.

Well, I have counted 3 of us that understand the use of meaningful statistics. Statistically there is absoultely nothing to indicate we will beat Vandy. It can still happen that we do, however, all indications are that this team and coaches are going to have to change what they have been doing for it to happen. Definition of insanity applies.

If you add in the progression of individual players, the team, and the coaching staff it is overwhelmingly Vandy as the favorite.

They can all share in the blame, there is plenty to go around. Either Dooley has the most immature team in the nation or his message isn't getting through to them. Either way the effort has sucked on more than one occasion.

This is the worst 1st Half/2nd Half team I've ever seen. And it's not just depth... that doesn't show up on your first drive of the 3rd.

1st Drives in the 3rd Quarter since Cinci (including Buffalo and MTSU):

8 drives. 35 plays. 66 yards. 2 INTs. 3 3-and-outs. 6 punts for a whopping 30 yard average.

0 points.

Yeah no excuse on the depth thing in the 3rd quarter. I could see it in the 4th but not right out of halftime.. Everything disappears, offense, defense all of it. They pack it in for some reason.

georgia gave up less than 50 yards passing and 80 yards rushing to rodgers that just means that nothing was open and they lost contain other than that there was a fake punt and a half back pass. did you watch the game? also we had brand new recievers on the field for their first week starting as freshman. oh yeah but vandy is much more impressive than us. see alabama game where we had twice as many rushing yards than they did with matt simms as qb

Vandy outplayed Arkansas for 3 & 3/4 quarters, and lost on a bad kick. Tennessee got worked by Arkansas and never looked competitive. This year it's unearned hubris to say "We're Tennessee, they're Vanderbilt."

Bray makes a difference, but I don't see any reason for swagger on our part.
