Vacation / Travel

I have researched the hello out of it for years, I already have our future visit planned down to the minute 😁 and have for years..

Ulysses, when you finally make it up to Maine, do you already have Baxter State Park (Baxter State Park – Welcome to a Magnificent Obsession.) and Mount Katahdin, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, included in your itinerary? Also, do you plan to visit the White Mountains and Mount Washington State Park (The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation : Mount Washington State Park) in New Hampshire? If you do, Mount Washington can brew up some of the nastiest weather east of the Rockies, so bring your bad weather/fleece gear.

We are in the process of planning our fall trip which will be to do the NE states tour, with a side trip to Niagara. Will spend 2 days in Acadia and 2 days in White Mountains area - have Mount Washington as a potential.

Late September or early October should provide a nice fall foliage show there. If you make it into the north woods of Maine, you might even see some moose.

Food in Portland is great.

Susan's Fish n Chips is an awesome dive.

Yep.

Just getting back from Yellowstone. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions. What an awesome place! I definitely want to go back and explore the less visited places. Couldn’t get as much hiking done as I wanted because of rain but my girls loved the ranch we stayed at and horseback riding.

Greater Yellowstone is my favorite place on Earth.

Riverwalk, market square, and the Alamo, actually twice. We got into town early Wednesday, and I wanted to see that stuff. Friday she got to leave base, and she wanted to also, so we did it again.

My dad took us down there a couple of times when we lived in Texas..I have alway loved San Antonio. Did you enjoy everything?

Louisiana made me wanna fish!

It makes me wanna shower..

People have told me I would love The Old Spanish Trail if I ever drove it, but I haven't seen anything in Lousiana yet but butt ugly stinking swamp, and butt ugly nasty cities. I hate New Orleans and will never understand the allure..

The wife and I are roadtripping from Virginia to Austin in a few weeks for a work event I have. Any must do's on the path through TN, AR, and TX, then back through the deep south?

Not sure if there is enough water flow that late into summer, but canoeing the Buffalo or Spring river in Arkansas is cool.
