VA Tech Transfer D line

LOL, Bud Foster is 66 years old and he's been retired from football for like 6 years.

Also Banks has done an incredible job. One of the best defenses in the country last year. If we had last year's D with this year's O, we'd be title contenders.

He’s not had much luck on the injury front that’s for sure. The way Georgia exploited our perimeter D is going to be the blue print on us going forward this year unfortunately. Can’t wait until McCoy comes back.

What excuses are you going to use if they are out for awhile? Some maybe a long while... Are you saying our player development sucks?
If you take ANY team in the country and remove 4 defensive starters (not to mention 4 of their best starters) that team will be substantially worse defensively

Why did the defense not look good against Syracuse a lot of the time? Several knew right then our defense was an issue. First game of the season your defense should be ahead of your offense. We weren't playing a very good team.

Again, we were missing 4 defensive starters for almost the entire game. Moi and Gibson both got hurt early. Not only that, but a ton of their yardage came in garbage time.

And Syracuse leads the nation in passing. They led it last season too. Syracuse isn't some hapless offensive team like Kentucky.

everybody wants to fire Banks. I’m confused. We saw the defense last year right? We’re missing both our starting corners and multiple DTs. I didnt like how they looked Saturday either but it’s still early in the season. That was a top 10 team we played. Give it some more time
If you want to fix the defense (or offense) then construct your NIL payments based on games played and not just showing up on the sidelines with an orange jersey on.

They've beaten UConn and Colgate....Bless their hearts. They play at Clemson this week.

I'll add to the "4 starters out" part of this,......and just say this. If our offense is clicking like it has been so far, we're putting a lot of pressure on our defense. I'm not complaining, I think I'm just being realistic. We rank 129th in time of possession. Again I'm cool with that if we're clicking, but our D is gonna spend some time on the field. That, and it's a game of inches .....is all I got.

Our offense is why you better have a $hitload of depth on defense. Not dead in the water due to a few injuries that people use for excuses. Combination of Bad coaching...bad development....bad recruiting. Hopefully not all 3.

We're okay, just gotta push thru... We got this.

That wouldn’t work. Same reason NFL players wouldn’t sign a contract that only pays them for the games they’ve played. Every down is a risk. And then you’d get players who play scared and tentative trying not to get hurt
