LOL, Bud Foster is 66 years old and he's been retired from football for like 6 years.

Also Banks has done an incredible job. One of the best defenses in the country last year. If we had last year's D with this year's O, we'd be title contenders.

That is the problem. This defense lived of a bunch of 30 yr old DT's and one great corner last year. Plus, teams had to scheme against Pearce. McCoy is injured, but how did we get so bare at DT with the greatest D-line coach in America?

no. can't play for two schools in the same season and you have to be enrolled in school (not possible until January) to even participate with the team. They can visit and announce a commitment to a school but are not locked in just like high schoolers, until they enroll.

Im not real sure about Banks myself. We play some games pretty good but we don't seem to be able to play very good defense against the big boys at all. Maybe im seeing things wrong but we need to have open tryouts for some LB's. All I see in game is the back of their jerseys as they slowly chase the play 10 yards downfield.

Nico and Cam Selden both regretting their bad decisions. UT probably doesn't sign Thomas if Cam stays. Right now everybody should be very happy with the Thomas signing. He should be Rb1 going forward. UT definitely upgraded from both them.

I agree . . . But this is the issue . . . Seemingly we are on this “seesaw” of good defense but the offense sucks . . . Or this year it again looks like we have found gold in an underrated QB and the offense looks good, but the defense is not good.

Until we are good on both sides of the ball with depth . . . And good on special teams . . . We will be at best 9-3 / 10-2 with luck and 8-4 will be the norm.

THIS^^^^^^ has been UT's MO for DECADES! Only ONE time in my lifetime (1998) did it all come together. We can NEVER be great on both sides of the ball in the same season. It's unreal. There always seems to be that missing piece. Whether coaching screw-ups or that ONE dynamic player to make all the difference. It's frustrating. This year... injuries have been a factor, seemingly more than usual.

Could a player at UCLA, where classes don't start until Sept. 22, transfer to another school where the add/drop date is still active AND be immediately eligible? Doesn't really have any effect on UT, just curious.

I would say possible if academics are in order / transferable. not sure on the timnig of getting transcripts and having them approved. It took months to get documentation from USC on Bru McCoy when he trasnferred to UT.

If I were a coach, a player who was willing to play against his brothers 9 months after leaving would be a huge red flag and Duke got exactly what they had coming.

Happens via free agency in the NFL all the time. Even with trades.

its possible to move to a school who is still in the drop/add period. As I said in another post, getting transferable transcripts is not always easy to do. It took months to get the documents from USC to Tennessee for Bru McCoy's eligibility.
