Makes me wonder if he's a bad public speaker? I know some people need to think about what they say, rather than blurting out something on the spot, they can give a more intelligently, thought out response. Otherwise, this is just weird or he's on a tight leash by his handlers."In speaking with a Louisa County official, it will be a controlled environment in which reporters will not be able to directly ask Hiter questions,” noted 247Sports’ Brian Dohn. “Instead, reporters are being told to submit their questions in advance. Those questions will be vetted, and a Louisa County administrator will read selected questions to Hiter, who will then provide his answers. There will also be no interviews on the side after the formal announcement is finished, a Louisa County official said"
And people think they know where he’s going lol"In speaking with a Louisa County official, it will be a controlled environment in which reporters will not be able to directly ask Hiter questions,” noted 247Sports’ Brian Dohn. “Instead, reporters are being told to submit their questions in advance. I saw this and wondered if this would have any relation regarding the Michigan judgements. And since MI is appealing…didn’t want any questions on that topic. Like regarding was that the reason he chose Vols over them or if he chooses MI, how would they affect him, etc…idk just spitballin’."In speaking with a Louisa County official, it will be a controlled environment in which reporters will not be able to directly ask Hiter questions,” noted 247Sports’ Brian Dohn. “Instead, reporters are being told to submit their questions in advance. Hard to blame them for wanting to protect their son from a national spotlight, I’d probably do something similar if it was my own son.
However, talking to AP/Matt Ray is a whole lot easier than being interviewed on GameDay. I’d say getting some practice with local guys would really help him in the long run. Just politely ask them to avoid questions about ‘naming a leader’ or ‘which school do you like the most?’
Makes me think it could be a school no one is talking aboutAgreed. He’s going to have to eventually do interviews. Answering questions after committing to a school about WHY you chose to commit there seems like a very basic situation and ideal to get some practice in. Don’t really understand shielding him from the media here. I’m sure they have their reasons, it just feels a bit odd.
Spot on.The top end talent of this class will make it the best class of the last 25 years.
I really have to give WMo and Banks, their strategy of finding diamonds locally has be jazzed for this db class.Spot on.
We sign Hiter or Keys and we have more or as many top 100 players signed on 247 (7) than any other school except for Texas (9) and Oregon (8).
Honestly if we sign Hiter or Keys or even just flip Givens don’t think there is a recruiting class this year that has 10 of their top recruits better than our top 10. Championship level recruiting and as opposed to 2014-2015 classes we have coaches who can develop players.
Well tell us we lost out without telling us we lost out lolHere are a few minor updates that won’t invade his privacy or steal his moment:
Hiter and family have not spoken to anyone on staff unless it’s been with Heupel or Sims. HC and position coach have open lines to him but can choose to not share personal conversations with anyone else. I wouldn’t doubt that’s happened given the family’s concern with privacy.
Two+ weeks ago there was some flurry of discussions around NIL and a suggestion that
his family might ask for further clarification in writing regarding some questions they had. That didn’t happen. You can read that as they didn’t need clarification, or they shut down or something else.
I stand by earlier comments that we had great confidence mid-Summer after some conversations with him.
It’s been eerily quiet since late July.
Regardless of what the kid does he shouldn’t be labeled as sneaky or manipulative. He’s a good kid from a good family and he wants this moment.
I have no idea if Michigan turned him or not. No one on staff (with the possible exceptions I mentioned), no one in AD, or among boosters knows anything new.
He’s a great back and a solid young man. I’d love to have him, but we’ll be ok either way.
Well. Sounds like his mind's been made up for a minute. Hope for the best, but have fun if its Meat Chicken. Here are a few minor updates that won’t invade his privacy or steal his moment:

I hope I don't sound judgmental or anything like that, and it is nobody's business .... but it may be a case of the young man having anxiety issues with public speaking and/or giving interviews? Again, there is nothing wrong with that."In speaking with a Louisa County official, it will be a controlled environment in which reporters will not be able to directly ask Hiter questions,” noted 247Sports’ Brian Dohn. “Instead, reporters are being told to submit their questions in advance.
