'26 VA RB Savion Hiter

And either of those guys can get paid heavily wherever they go.
Michigan and Tennessee are offering more than any other school in the country. I'm not making that up. It's why they are at the top. I'm not making that up either. I don't know why people have so much trouble accepting this. It's the same reason we will get Keys if we get him.

Yeah no one's saying that they aren't. But saying "they're at the top because they're offering the most" is diminishing the past year of relationship building and recruiting efforts. His family LOVES Tennessee. They also love Michigan. They don't love them because of the money. There's so much more to it.

What are the numbers

When you say you’re not making that up, what you mean is you’re making that up.

So you've seen the written offers or was in the room when the offers were made?

You don't know s***.

Hiter confidence still above 50 coming down the back nine 9 of his commitment?
It’s come down some for me… I won’t say that he’s going to Michigan because I don’t know… What I do know is he has went dark on everybody based off me talking to different circles in the last couple of days…

well. that tracks. guess we'll have to wait and see. just don't understand why we can't get over the hump with big time recruits?
Moa not a big time recruit? Rouse not a big time recruit? Mike Matthews not a big time recruit? David Sanders not a big time recruit? Faizon Brandon not. Big time recruit?

I could keep going.

Can’t wait for y’all to complain if we don’t get him “we led until the very end” bs even tho literally everyone is just guessing bc the fam isn’t saying a word
He's literally the ONLY RB we're recruiting this cycle. So, yeah, missing on him would be a big deal. I understand you choose optimism. That's fine. But it's realism, not pessimism, to say it's a big deal when you miss on the only guy you're recruiting for a key position. It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would definitely be a grade-A nut shot.

Obviously, coaches and media are doing their best to get intel here, but Hiter and his family have been adamant about keeping this one completely quiet. I don’t believe Hiter will inform anyone outside of his family.

Next week’s commitment will be Hiter’s final decision. He fully intends for his recruitment to be shut down, so he can focus on his senior year. Hiter told me as much when I visited him in the offseason, and I believe him. There will be no late NIL runs. Hiter doesn’t love the process and wants to be done with it.

Earlier today, Virginia native and Michigan freshman Shamari Earls hinted at Hiter siding with the Wolverines in an interview elsewhere. Earls has been an invaluable weapon for Michigan on the recruiting trail, especially this cycle as he helped the Wolverines lure Travis Johnson, Markel Dabney and Andre Clarke.

Both Earls and Michigan freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood have done their best to recruit Hiter. The same goes for members of U-M’s 2026 recruiting class. However, I think Earls’ comments were based more on hope and gut feeling than concrete intel.

Hiter has always been a bit of a lone wolf and isn’t the most receptive to peer recruiting. Even on his official visit, Hiter took care of his own business while the three Virginia recruits mentioned above spent most of the weekend together. Hiter isn’t arrogant. He’s simply a private, small town kid.

It’s probably best for everyone to minimize anything that could potentially have a negative impact on Hiter. We should all respect his privacy down the stretch. Thus, my reporting on Hiter will be limited over the next week. It’s best for me, the site and the program.

I know everybody wants to know how I’m feeling. My gut says Michigan, but again, I really don’t know here. It’s a close race with Tennessee. The Volunteers are still very, very much a threat.

Latest update from the Michigan side...the fact is nobody knows and likely won't until he announces. I'm still optimistic we can pull this one out. Rouse and Moa's recruitments went dark just like this in the final days.
