Brief update: I’m sure some of you caught AP’s comment last week that Hiter and his family do not appreciate the “chatter” that he is coming to UT. Apparently I’m the chatter. I’ve been corrected, and won’t chatter further. Starting with the collapse of Rice’s recruitment (bball) this Summer, there has been a concerted effort to put a lid on recruiting information leaking during negotiations. I’ve been given strict instructions that I cannot share certain things and have honored that. I want to share here whenever I can, but not at the expense of someone’s privacy or our university’s. I won’t share health updates, disciplinary matters ( the Boo thing was inaccurate and exaggerated but I wasn’t getting in that crossfire) etc. Regarding Hiter I was told he expressed his intent to come here, but was not told to keep a lid on it. I stand by what I said as correct, and particularly the part where I stated that he has a good family, a good head on his shoulders and a HS coach who supports him for the right reasons. That said, the lid is back on. The kid has the right to his moment and can still decide something different than coming here. I’ve now been asked to keep the lid on (potential) further developments on Hiter and will until he announces. It’s one of the biggest moments in his life and he deserves it. I think this kid is a rare talent and a solid young man. I believe he wants to wear an orange shirt and hope he will. I’m shutting up for a few weeks. Maybe someone can drop in with some eyes. I can’t.

I’ve learned to never trust anyone’s opinions when it comes to recruiting. There’s no way to predict what an 18 year old kid will do. Just sit back and enjoy the process and maybe we’ll get lucky

The only place your info got shared was in last weeks monday night chat. Someone just briefly mentioned you liked where the Vols where at. AP agreed with the sentiment. Didn't seem like there was any bad blood

I read something about a month ago that went on with his agent or MI staff leaking NIL deals. Our side has done nothing of that sort. All we have done is hearsay from pundits and nothing from staff. Maybe all that rubbed them the wrong way and could’ve put Vols in the driver’s seat. Idk, just feel the Vols is a better fit.
