'26 VA RB Savion Hiter

So, on top of you mistakenly thinking you know everything about football, football players and prospects, you also now claim to know what player highlights other people have watched?

His post followed a video of Savion Hiter's junior year highlights that was posted in this thread. Who else could he have been talking about?

@NighthawkVol is the poster in question.

That’s some of the best high school RB film I’ve ever seen. Good Lord.
In your post to which I responded, you said you disagreed that Savion's film was the best RB film that "he's ever seen" (meaning NighthawkVol). How do you know what RB highlight film he has watched?

Way to parse these posts to try and make this into something its not. I don't know what RBs he's watched nor does it actually matter because when someone makes a hyperbolic statement like "that's the best RB film I've ever seen" it's common for people to say no you're wrong even if we don't know who he's watched. Because the statement is more about the talent level of the player in question than of what other players he might be comparing him to.

That's why I said Savion's film doesn't even look high 5-star RB good. I brought up David Georges-Gabriel as a comp of a guy who isn't even a consensus 5-star RB in the 2027 class who has better tape. This was nothing more than a silly attempt at a gotcha by you. Anybody with common sense knows what RBs he's watched are irrelevant when hyperbolic statements like that are made.

I didn't parse anything. This was your post. If you want to say that you misspoke, then that's fine. However, I didn't parse a damn thing. Also, your RB evaluation skills are as crappy as the rest of your player evaluations. Hiter is the real deal.

No. I remember how good he was. I just disagreed with that poster for saying it's the best RB film he's ever seen.

I said “some of the best film I’ve seen,” not “THE best film.” That’s an important distinction and you calling it hyperbole is a result of your failure to discern that difference.

But you know what? You respond to the post you WISH I made, if it makes you feel smart, okay, Punkin? And if anyone calls you out for failure to comprehend, just complain that they’re parsing words.

Or, you know, addressing the actual words that were said. 🙄

No it's parsing. Cause when someone says its the best I've seen it's common to assume he's a decent amount of RB tape before. And yes you can call him out on that if the player in question doesn't rise to the level where it's plausible for such a statement to be true. That's why I said Savion's film isn't even high 5-star RB good. As in every year there are at least a couple of RBs with better tape.

Even then there are a couple of backs each year with better tape. Go watch David Gabriel-Georges if you think Savion's tape was special. Just because we're likely to land a recruit doesn't make them "one of the best ever".

The end of your post is the exact argument I would make. You’d be a feature back and get a lot of carries still, but we wouldn’t wear you down like Michigan would do with their offense.

D Samp had 73 more carries than Michigan’s #1 RB last season under a new HC.

We nearly ground D Samp down to dust last year.

Yes but Sampson wanted to have the majority of the carries. If I remember correctly he was weighing the transfer portal after splitting so many carries with Small and Wright. Making him the feature back and NIL is what kept him around last season

D Samp’s touches were pretty similar to most featured RBs these days - nearly 300 touches. Jeanty had almost 400. Hampton had more than Sampson. Kaleb Johnson had a few less. Judkins had more touches in both his first two seasons at Ole Miss. don’t really see this as grinding him down to dust.

Back to the discussion at hand, a former UT RB coach once told me that high school RB film can be tough to evaluate because so many guys just look good simply because they’re bigger and faster than their opponents and it doesn’t translate to the next level. And sometimes, a guy who looks less impressive than another against high school competition ends up being better than the first guy against college competition.

Consequently, the primary trait he looks for isn’t speed or size, but how quickly and easily does a RB make a defender miss in small spaces. Not always with a discernible move, but by setting defenders up so that a conspicuous move isn’t necessary. So it just looks like the RB is gliding right by.

That’s what I see with Hiter. He’s demonstrating exactly what this coach was talking about. He goes right by defenders in small spaces without looking like he’s putting on any type of “move.” Yes, he has speed and strength, but more importantly, he has that other “thing” that this coach was describing. Probably why he’s the #1 RB in America and Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, and Georgia are all fighting so hard for him.

Correct. Hiter is a gifted runner, that's why sometimes he can emerge from a crowd of defenders seemingly untouched...but he IS getting touched. Those little subtle moves don't allow defenders to get a solid shot on you, which makes you much harder to bring down. Dobbs ran similar to that. Defenders just had such a hard time getting a clean shot on him when he was scrambling. He'd sort of give em that dead leg and they would slip right off of him.

Why are you so damn miserable? Good grief lol
Nothing wrong with the individual being cautious. IF Hiter chooses Michigan this board will go into the "staff can't close" theory or " we dont need him" pity story.

Nothing wrong with being cautious when it comes to recruits committing. They change their minds everyday..

It was this post and another in Keys thread back to back. Let alone previous threads
