'26 VA RB Savion Hiter

Yup we lead for a recruit up until commitment time, then at the last minute we get out bid and commits to another school
We get played a lot by writers and sites for clicks. They know we’re down on the ground looking for any crumb we can find and eat it up.

It’s been a minute since we landed a 5 star rb. Think the last would be Hurd. We’ve had a bunch of guys who outperformed their rating, Kelly, Sampson, Wright, etc
Bishop so far. Small too actually.

Lewis was decently ranked and he had a strong freshman year.

RBs and Dlineman/EDGE guys have been so consistent on the field and getting drafted.

Hmmm. Every year I have that one recruit I really want at TN. My record on who we actually land is dismal. This year it's Hiter.

Savion Hiter's NIL agent may have tipped his hand

The above post from Hiter's agent doesn't reveal much information at all, but it says more than someone might initially think. This post likely means that Hiter was offered a massive NIL deal, one that has the chance to sway his recruitment. And since Hiter is currently visiting Michigan, this post is likely about the Wolverines and them trending well with Hiter.

Turn out the lights.

Us overpaying for a RB would be the dumbest thing ever. We've shown we can grab 3-star RBs and turn them into stars. Chasing this kid never made any sense to me. Even if he's a star let Michigan have him.

I'd rather overpay for a stud LT, Edge, or CB. Those are positions where elite talent comes at a premium.

Yeah I think they're offering huge money for him. They know we were in a good spot and that we'd give him a great offer. They're likely trying to blow whatever we're offering all the way out of the water.
Seems they can and will afford it. Is what it is.

take the money and give it to TK, and Givens.

This is the way. Shouldn’t pay premium money for a non-premium position. If Michigan overpays for him so be it. Circle back on Latimer or another kid and swing hard at Georges and Barnes in ‘27. I’d like to get him but not to break the bank.

I agree with what you’re saying. But I more see it as “we’ve done incredibly well with 3 starts, imagine what we could do with this guy.”

Still, this is the NIL era where allocating funds correctly is important and agree with your point.
