'26 VA RB Savion Hiter (Michigan commit)

His decision is looking worse & worse by the day
Really sounds like he wanted to be here but his mom preferred Michigan at the time. Not sure if it’s because that is what he originally chose and wanted him to stick with decision or that’s where she wanted him to go. Coaches will probably keep working him throughout the season.

Doesn’t matter.

They didn’t look very well coached. Not to mention undisciplined on the sidelines.

We’re the much better option right now.
Let him go.

There’s plenty of good backs in 2027 and we can flip a guy in 2026.

Not to mention the guys already on squad

I mean Michigan lost to Oklahoma on the road, you all make it sound Ike they got beat by South Florida at home.
Right! Not to mention, they are living and dying with a True FR QB. Of course they will struggle Offensively, very few True FR come in slaying. I hate Michigan to my core, but Underwood will be a really good QB in the future.

It's not just that they lost, it's how the offense is playing with a new OC. Their offense is looking pretty anemic. When you only put up 34 on NM Lobos, you don't have a great offense....Wyoming put 49 on them last year. Then they can only score 13 points on Oklahoma. Not a good look for a rb that wants national exposure.

when you overpay he gots to play. Not helping his confidence and right now he is not good. they are going to lose a few this year

This dynamic is why I wonder if it’s better to take QBs from HS that are further down your board, pay less, use that savings for other positions and transfer QBs with some experience

DeSean Bishop was the #1322 player nationally, #91 RB out of high school
Star Thomas was the #505 player nationally, #44 RB out of high school
Dylan Sampson was the #393 player, #31 RB out of HS
Jaylen Wright was the #373 player, #26 RB out of HS.

I say all of this to say......none of us should be concerned about RB. Heupel's system gets the most out of RBs.

But that being said....if we ever do get 1-2 of these 5* RBs.....the world ain't ready.
It's called development. Our staff are very good coaches.

A top flight back is important to big time winning. We were going after him that hard for a reason. I'm pretty sure we're going to go hard after another 5 star back next season too.
They don’t miss on many NO-BRAINERS, but they do miss on LOTS of guys from out of the limelight and late bloomers. They can’t project development.

The portal fixes a lot of these misses. The portal gives you guys that have proven their value. Not saying you don't try to get guys like Hiter. It just isn't the catastrophe it once was.

I can't remember who all UT missed on at RB in the last recruiting cycle. But to this point Thomas looks like a pretty good consolation prize.
