'26 VA RB Savion Hiter (Michigan commit)

Ha ha ha. I’m glad you got that out of my statement. “Mom wanting him to choose a bigger bag” and “ mom is a money grabber using her son” is a huge leap. Probably the same leap you took when you claimed both made big offers and it was a difficult decision. You got that info from a person who knows somebody who knows somebody who “supposedly” has info on the family.

So claiming they are a good family is 4th hand at best too.
You’re out of line. Do better.

If I had no ties to a school and had no idea about the situation, I’m probably picking the school that offered the most money as well. Tennessee and Michigan are both great programs; he will be successful at either imho. I do think Tennessee was the better fit and supposedly so did the agent.

What kind of is peculiar to me is why hire an agent if you’re not going to take their advice? Of course it could’ve been close between the two and the agent just laid out the pros and cons and they chose the better money over the better fit.

It’s easy for us to judge and complain but that money will set his family up for a good while IF they’re smart with it. Jmo on all the above; we’ll be fine at RB for a good while. Even if we have to grab a guy in the portal.

maybe he watched the game and saw how our RB's were used... just sayin... not over yet.
I know for a fact that he was texting several players and recruits prior to his announcement. They believed he was coming to TN.

If those lines of communication are still open, and seeing the way that our RBs are able to shine, Tennessee will remain an attractive option.

Who wouldn’t want to play with the top QB, the best WR class in the country and one of the top Oline classes, as well as a system that can showcase a RBs ability like very few offenses can.

How many carries we put on D Samp last year?
Sampson had more carriers last year than either Michigan back did. However we also had 100 more touches given to the RB’s and 900 more yards. They sucked and we didn’t. I still have no idea how OSU sucked so bad against them, but Meatchicken wasn’t good last year pass or run. We had 5,811 yards of offense and they had 3,721. If Michigan sucks again this year we will still have a shot with Hiter, if Underwood looks great as a true frosh Michigan most likely holds on to him.

If we have 2 rooms that we could afford to miss out on players at right now it’s rb and te. If we don’t get this guy and a Snead replacement we like, now be a good time to work the back channels for transfer portal come December.

I agree with your first sentence.

I don't see us going after a transfer at either of those positions if we don't get a high school recruit when I listened to McKee and Callahan and it makes sense. We are stacked with young talent. A transfer would clog up the depth chart and potentially backfire with the promising youth.

We have 3 quality backs, then Morris who is impressing. Next year he would be our #3 back with the other freshman from Georgia on the roster as well. No Hiter, then 2027 looks good for our options at RB.

TE is not quite as deep yet but very much as promising. That is why we are targeting the Kentucky commit. It's possible we could go after a transfer if we miss but I think it would be a guy that doesn't have more than 2 years left. I haven't looked at 2027 high school recruiting at the position.

Just my opinion.

Class recruiting rankings are very nuanced. Think about it. If this is the one guy that would get us in the top 5 but we don't get him is it really that big of a deal? Our RB room is already stacked and they can easily grab a top RB in the portal if they want. And get Davis in the 27 class. You have to not just look at the overall rankings but the needs that are filled.

Plus, some 5*s bust. Some 3*s end up being much better (look at Ty Redmond…he should’ve been a 4*).
