I don’t like reading “failure. Coaches failed here..” it’s not a failure to be in the final 2 for the #1 rb in the country. Seems like an immature and emotional response to a 2 year well fought battle.

I agree with that. It’s just a little confusing and you quote the poster who went out of his way to say that it wasn’t a failure. But now I you were agreeing with him/her.

this is not a failure. RB is not like WR, or OL, or DB. This class is really really good. Not elite, but really solid. IMO, best top to bottom, thus far in Huep era.

That said, we still seem to come up one leg against the wall while other's dance, in these national recruitments. I think that is changing. Also think landing TK would be a huge arrival back on the national scene, optics wise.

Hearing that dudes name called 20 times in Poly Bowl, along with interviews etc. Gives your team notoriety and serves as a 'hey if TK went there...' moment to others.

Glad we went hard after him honestly. He seems to be that good of a player. As one of the recruiting gurus said, paraphrasing.... Hiter and Keys are elite, elite as in best in this class or any class in memory.

I should have been more clear that I was agreeing with giving credit vs the failure route mentioned prior which seemed he was responding to.

When AP says terms like tea leaves read, he’s saying he’s heard something bad but doesn’t want to crap on the kid’s moment. We’ll continue swinging but sounding like Michigan here.

Sims will get some criticism but he’s been an absolute beast on the recruiting trail. Still think he’s been a huge addition to recruiting staff.

What I don't like about such an "update" is the use of 'tea leaves' as an all-purpose term for intuitive signals. Why not be specific about what these troubling signs are? "Tea leaves" has become an over-used cop-out term for these recruiting analysts. If they really wanted to clue us in, then they should tell the people who aren't privy to their tell-tale recruiting signs and indicators what they are talking about.

He's probably reading entrails and doesn't want to gross people out.

If he chooses Michigan, I don’t get why any top 5 star RB wouldn’t choose UT under this staff. They’ve proven since they’ve been here that running backs will eat in this system. Is it a money thing? I get that other programs run the ball too but we just came off a year where we led the conference in rushing and were top 10 nationally. I had to scroll down pretty far to find Michigan anywhere. I guess maybe their pitch is he’ll start day one?

Give the Vols Staff Credit for even making this as close as it was and for a brief moment Kid was thinking of wearing Orange. Its not a fail by staff as RB Room is stronger than its been since Heupel has been here. We are in on 3 Bluechip players next year one of which is Elite and it will be another battle with Buckeyes. Now this morning maybe Hiter commits to our Big Orange. We will see. Anyway Today is another Beautiful Day GOD has given all of us. In CHRIST Alone
