I agree but I also have to wonder what an elite athlete could do at RB in this offense. I can understand why elite WR's might think twice about Tennessee .... but RB's should be tripping over themselves to play here. It would be discouraging to miss this target. I think it's a big deal.

Kid has been to Knoxville 5 different times; 4 times on his own dime. He was on campus in April, and then came back again a month later. Then he took his official visits, Knoxville being the last of those. No more unofficial visits to anywhere, after those last two times he visited us.

Before his unofficial visits in April and May, the last visits he made before that were to UGA and OSU, all the way back in November. Outside of his official visit in June, he hasn't been to Ann Arbor since October of last year. That's pushing a year since he's been there, outside his official. He's been to Knoxville 4 different times in that span.

Taking it back old school...follow the visits, baby!

I agree but I also have to wonder what an elite athlete could do at RB in this offense. I can understand why elite WR's might think twice about Tennessee .... but RB's should be tripping over themselves to play here. It would be discouraging to miss this target. I think it's a big deal.

Peyton Lewis and Daune Morris are both elite athletes. I think Morris could be used in the slot as well. Especially if they’ve made some changes to the offense and we start using more motions. He would be absolutely deadly on jet touch passes and some of those orbit counters teams are running now. Personally I’d rather miss on this guy and use that money to secure Keys sooner rather than later. Because Bishop Lewis, and Morris all have 2 or more years of eligibility after this season and they have the entire 2027 cycle to find a back. Oddly enough RB seems to be the position on the roster where we’ve built the most depth. Barring any transfers, and I don’t really see who would outside of maybe Baker in a year or two, we should be 3 deep in that room for the next 3 seasons

I just think with the way we've elevated the play of RBs here, taking decent players and making them great makes things a lot easier to miss on a guy like this. We cannot say the same thing about WR, which is why Keys is more important than Hiter to me.

It’s not bc they don’t want to spoil his moment it’s bc they literally do not know where he’s going.

This seems to be tough for folks to grasp. But this is one of those recruitments. Both sides feel good. Maybe they’ll know 30 mins before he announces.

I trust this staffs evaluation of that position more than any other position save DT.
If we don't get Hiter, there will be a late bloomer.
Watch out for Marcell "Celley" Davis for
Houston HS..6'1" 195 lbs. Runs upright but has great burst. He's barely scratching the surface of his potential

Edit: Baker will play this season. He and Redmond at CB both should have been 4 Star play out of Georgia.

Still essentially a coin flip, visit history favors us; what little talking he’s done and social media activity favors them. Would be huge to pull this off but not that big a deal to miss on, just because of position Keys is the more important recruit.

Amari Latimer, idk how solid he is to Wisconsin but he’s a big kid already, 247 rates a 88 but his offer list looks more like a kid rated 94. If we need a fallback option he seems to me like a good one. Land Keys, go after Blair, Watkins, maybe a Hez Harris flip and you’ve gotta be top 8 adjacent.
