The high three-star linebacker from Salem, Va., was surprised when he landed his newest offer from Georgia but the word is that coach Kirby Smart and co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann loved what they saw on film and in person. The Bulldogs are definitely going to be a major contender for so many reasons including that his visit was an “amazing experience” but visits to Tennessee, Miami, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Michigan, Oregon, Clemson, Maryland, Penn State, Stanford and USC are planned this spring so a decision could be way off.

Later eval or losing out on Singleton?

He’s been to campus once before and is a Top 65 player in the country. So not a late eval, I think he’s just (surprisingly, IMO and maybe to some schools) still uncommitted so the Vols are making another push. Have to imagine there is SOME correlation to a sense that Singleton is trending to LSU, too.

Doesn’t he have a family connection to Miami? So maybe he’s a Spillman type where most assume one thing but now that he is going to not pop in July and continue visits (unlike Spillman) everyone is like well dang maybe he isn’t a lock?

Related to Bob (and therefore Rohan) Marley. But it doesn't seem like people think he's a lock to Miami like Spillman to UT...

Is there a definite answer on whether he still plans on visiting at the end of July?

Nothing is done done until a kid shows up (see Singleton, twice) but it seems like they're both planning on being here. Problem is Singleton also is expected in Red Stick (again). That said, Cole is bigger and ranked higher, so I'd take the trade now and feel amazing about a LB class of Burns/Spillman/Cole.

Chris Cole is readying to release a top 10, and one school set to be on the list for the top-100 linebacker from Salem (Va.) High is Tennessee.

That is because the Cole has one visit set for later this month, and it is to the Knoxville, Tennessee, school.

"I'll be visiting Tennessee at the end of the month," Cole said. "It's the last weekend of July on the weekend of July 29."

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound is the No. 6 linebacker and No. 64 player in the class. His teammate, running back Peyton Lewis, is committed to Tennessee.
