On Vol Calls tonight, a caller asked about what could be improved about the foul shooting, and Pearl gave a good answer.
He said that when he looked at the tape, he could see that when Ramar and Lofton dribbled the ball they looked down at the ball and looked up at the rim just before they shot the ball. This is different from what he believes. Pearl says he prefers a strategy of looking at the rim the entire time, that way visually, nothing new jumps out at the shooter. He said possibly that was a reason an experienced shooter like Chris missed, because he saw his target too late.
Not sure if they will be able to break some of our guys' habits, but I agree with his philosophy from when I play recreationally.
