UT's chance at March Madness

Who is your first team out?

Boise State fell to #50 in my rankings, so I just pulled them out. They need to be mid-40s for me to feel good about them getting in. So, I have Boise State, Ole Miss, UVA, Bama, and Baylor as the top contenders who are not in.
Last year, every BCS school above 60 got in. Only three teams below my Top 59 got at-larges, and it was three BCS schools ranked 75 or higher. So, currently, Bama is 74, and Baylor is 75. I have the Vols at 63. Ole Miss is 58. UT is the lowest at-large team in. I'm taking them over the Rebels because of the huge SOS difference.
Basically, I'm hoping it works out that the field correlates with my rankings as well as or better than last year. I have MTSU awfully high at 18, and they risk ruining the trend I hoped started last year, which was my Top 35 getting in, regardless of league (Iona was 32, and Drexel was 38).

Edit: Throw in USM among the teams nearly in.

FWIW, I wasn't just screwing around pitting UT against MTSU like that. If UK and UT are both in play-in games, they'd be in separate games. So, whoever is higher on the S-Curve (UK right now), gets priority for "selecting" a spot in the bracket. So, they got placed in the location that was better for them. La Salle had to go there too, because of where I had the other A-10 teams.

Random thought No. 2: If Boise St loses the late game to San Diego St, I'm dropping the Broncos and inserting Tennessee as final at-large

Random thought No. 3: This is the last chance for normal sleep, so I'm going to call it a night. New Bracket and Math in the morning.

Wow. Nice!

great morning on VN.
Boise loses and Butch gets an elite running back.
Coffee sure tastes better this morning.

Sure enough. Lunardi moved us to the last team in. Playing LaSalle in Dayton. Before a potential matchup with Pitt in KC

We're not too far off. I have La Salle playing UK in the other play-in, and I have us playing MTSU for now. I do have Pitt as a 5 but not currently projected to face a play-in winner. The 5s who draw the play-ins are determined by fitting teams into places that will not violate the bracketing rules. It has nothing to do with who are the higher 5s.

I would like to see UCLA rally and get rid of Arizona State.

Excellent.
That's one less team to worry about catching us from behind. They seemed to be getting more consideration as a possibility than they deserved, IMO, but it's not an issue anymore.
