2015 saw a big increase in rushing yards for the Vols, can the Vols 2016 Oline pave the way for an even more productive year running the football?

Who will surprise us on the Oline?

I don't think there will be any surprises per say, but I think you'll see a lot of young guys live up to expectations sooner rather than later. Richmond will be as impressive as advertised. Coleman Thomas is a stud at center. The guard situation is not only talented but has very solid depth. At RT I'm expecting Hall to do something special.

Good OLine and DLine for the next two seasons is a huge reason to be excited going forward.

Agree. I think Richmond will be as advertised. Hall a year older and the 3 man nucleus in the middle will be steady, if not better than...

Building quality depth behind them is in the works...

Where championships are won..

Our 3 guys inside are probably the best interior line in the country.

And DeBord has done an amazing job at using man based power and counter schemes to create space for our backs and Dobbs

Seemed like a lot of those runs came from Dobbs on busted plays where the line collapsed and he had to make something out of nothing. Watch the UF game again if you want to see our O-line get manhandled

I think many are forgetting how critical it is that Richmond does play well...could be really bad if he doesn't.

We have other options and you can scheme around 1 tackle. The issue before was trying to scheme around both tackles, both guards, and the center

I'm hoping to see a big jump by the OL. Expecting to see a modest one. We'll have a lot of experience from our guys on the interior, less at OT. We know guys like Thomas, Wiesman, Robertson, Jones, and Hall can run block. We saw it in 2015. But a lot of those guys still have some pretty big strides to make as pass blockers. Thomas, for instance, was great in the run game. His athleticism made him a great asset pulling and in screen plays. But there were times where DL straight up put him on his back in pass protection.

Honestly, I see a lot of parallels between this unit and the 2011 unit. I think they'll take another step forward, but as a whole they're probably still a season's worth of experience and development away from being a top tier unit.

The other factor with the increased rushing was the addition of Kamara. It's not everyday you get two backs capable of starting for any SEC team out there. I think really only UGA has that same factor (though one of theirs tends to stay hurt) of having multiple backs capable of significant rushing yards.

I see a lot of complaining about our passing attack and inability to get top WR recruits.

Everyone wants to blame WR coach, OC, play calling, etc. for not getting top WR recruits

You need to really look no further than the O-Line. First two years in Butch's tenure it was flat out HORRIBLE. Last year it was okay, but still not good enough to allow for a decent passing game. Dobbs was running for his life a lot and made some huge plays doing so.

I honestly think with our running ability and a better O-Line the passing game this year makes great strides.... or maybe I'm just an optimist....lol

Dead-on here

It's hard to say who's going to be our best OL for the 2016 season. We have some experience coming back along with a couple of injured players too.

If healthy & 100% it would be hard to bet against Jashon Robertson. Drew Richmond & Chance Hall are also two others that played excellent last season.

Jack Jones did as well but for some reason people don't see him starting or getting much playing time this coming season. I think he will myself.

I believe Richmond redshirted last season. Jack Jones is a beast and would be starting if Butch didn't put so much emphasis on experience for O-line guys.

You're right that Richmond redshirted.

I really like what Jones brings to the table. But he's an OG or C and we are pretty deep at OG right now with some older guys ahead of him.
