Utah vs UCLA

Heupel looked a little relieved on the day they found out he was leaving. I think they felt pressure to work with him.
Really think he knew Nico wasn’t going to work out but so much money was invested in him by big money people that we had to let him hang himself so to speak. He just never was going to work off the field to get better.

Wait until he plays even better competition. Not taking anything away from Utah, but it’s gonna get worse for him.
I wouldn’t go that far. Utah may not be Ohio State, but if last year was the aberration as I think it was, Utah will be as tough as 80% of their schedule, and they make up for lack of 5 star talent with how they play.

Meh, the Bruins got into the B10 so attendance wasn't an issue

UCLA is kind of in the same boat as Miami. Their football stadium is 20-30 miles away and in UCLAs case that distance is through some of the worst traffic in the country.

Oh yes, and Nico sucks. Can't forget that part
Miami at least has the sleazy new money donors. UCLA is an old crumbling has been of a program.

I believe your correct

It’s all about family for $amoan$.

I still see it going down like this:

Nico didn't have it and his dad figured it out. It wasn't working at Tennessee. He demanded more money (i.e. we will put up with it if you pay us) and then tried to find a spot where he could either have so much talent, it might not matter (i.e. Oregon) or a place out of the lime light where he could develop (i.e. Tulane). Both failed and now he is at a program that isn't great but plays in a great league. It is an EPIC FAILURE. As stated, if they want Nico to make it, they should have had him go to a G5 school on the West Coast. Things are going to end rough for him. I kind of feel bad for him in scheme of things. I had a funny feeling we would be better off without him.

Issue is he gets too nervous on the field. Same symptom as JG. I think he second-guesses himself. Confidence is a real thing. Hooker had a lot of confidence and composure and that was why he was an EXCELLENT QB, not his arm strength.

Utah is always pretty solid.

Utah lost 5 games by a TD or less last year. I think 3 were by a field goal.

They were great on defense but the offense was nonexistent.

They are a good team but lack the downfield passing attack.

UCLA also has the headache of having a cross-town rival that is a better football program, (even with their struggles). From a W-L competitive standpoint, UCLA would had been better off staying in Pac12 and keeping it together (or going to Big12).

Nico is a frustrating case for sure. Lots of issues and mistakes, but his height and speed gives him a lot of potential.
