Utah State opens as early Vegas favorite @Tennessee

Is Utah rebuilding or reloading? If reloading, what year are the experienced players and how many games started/qtrs played/snaps taken .. does that group have. Any true freshmen?

Vegas doesn't plan on losing money, setting this line IS significant. Could very well be a tougher game than some are willing to admit. Especially if they are "reloading" with talent at some positions better than who left.

Anybody know?

Utah State doesn't reload. The concern is because they have a good coach, good defense and their offense is good. They should also have this guy back at full health.

The line will just move based on betting..but I hope some people temper their expectations about our W-L record and understand the freshman probably will not do better than the seniors we lost.

I don't have great expectations for our W-L record, but I do expect for this game to be a W.

Too many unknowns to bet a game like this now.

Injuries in spring practice and fall camp could change things dramatically.

However, this should enlighten some (though I doubt it will) to how good Utah St actually is and how UT is viewed this upcoming season.

Tradition, "We're TN so we'll whip dey a**," and all that other nonsense people cling to doesn't mean anything for this game.

Alabama

Utah State is much better

Its gonna be a fight and we will lose if we ho hum into the game

After the last few years of losing records, I certainly hope we are not ho humming it into any games this year, if so we are in real trouble.

Anyone who hasn't watched utah state doesn't know what they don't know.

Oh man. This is so embarrrassing. This is like walking into a bar, and having your wing man tell some hot chick that you drive a Ferrari, when you know you've got a Toyota Camry parked outside.

First there were those crazy guys at Sports Illustrated:

Florida State, Alabama top Way-Too-Early college football Top 25 - College Football - Martin Rickman - SI.com

Then the nuts at ESPN:

What are college football's top 25 teams for 2014?

Then the clowns at Yahoo Sports:

Y! SPORTS

Now Vegas?!?!:

WHAT ARE THESE GUYS SMOKING?!?!?!

I hope you don't hold us Aggies responsible for the actions of these folks. We're not the ones making these crazy predictions! I've said repeatedly. This is a money game for us. We have three goals for the money game: 1-Get the money. 2-Don't have any season ending injuries. 3-Try not to be embarrassed.

Look, I hope you have a great season. If I were you, I certainly wouldn't be expecting to start it with a loss to Utah State.

Go Vols! Go AGGIES!

Utah State will not beat The Vols... I don't care how good of a team they got... They won't have enough talented players to hang with an SEC team through four quarters.... And at Neyland... No way!!!!.

Two point underdog? Sounds about right.

Butchie's recruiting prowess has distracted the UT fanbase from the reality that he isn't a proven gameday coach yet (especially at an SEC level). And Utah State is a fundamentally sound, well-coached team with more recent history of success.

Beware...

If we aren't favored by August, I'm going to place my first ever sports bet.

Kinda early for a line don't you think?

I am surprised they are favorite with the game being at home for us. I do realize that Utah State is a good football team and it's not going to a cake walk game but still a little surprised they open up as favorite.

Bet now...more than likely the betting will change the line.

Butch is proven, just not at an SEC level.

USU has proven they can win, just not against SEC teams.

Soooo ...
