Appreciate the good seasons while they last, my friend. One day, you'll look back on these last few good seasons y'all have had and wonder where they went. I speak from experience. Haha. I believe we're on the rebound and headed in the right direction. But, as you remember the aggies winning only one game in a season, I remember my vols winning a national championship. College football really is an amazing sport. Funny how things can change.

So 500-1 odds is now better than 100-1 odds?

If Vegas did not think we would win the Utah State game then they would not have put us at a 100-1 odds to win the National Championship.

I just dont see the point in discussing football with a team that just gets everybody's leftovers. I was more than happy to talk to the Oregon fans and they conducted themselves very well. Id be more than willing to talk to Oklahoma fans. There is nothing interesting about them in the slightest. Its not a big game. Its a game we could probably half ass and still win. They are a decent team but they aren't worth discussing in depth.

lots of these "experts" base everything off the previous year. Utah State is also not the same team as last yr. i dont care if some of our guys are freshman the talent gap here will be too much esp at home. saw where chris lowe already had a column about this being upset alert bc USU returns 15 starters but thats not true. more like lost 15 starters. i see their fans saying keeton is a darkhorse heisman candidate but hes coming off a shredded knee and expecting him to be his old self in his first game back is ridiculous. who knows if he even plays.

keeton is back in practice. he isn't taking contact, but he is three months ahead of schedule.

USU returns 11 starters. Phil Steele's list is wrong at several positions.

this is the kind of post that makes ag post like he does. blatant disrespect. you don't know anything about our team, but you act like you do just because we can't possibly be good because we "get leftovers." we've played some tough teams to the wire with teams not even approaching the level we have now.

I just don't see how fans like you can say this isn't a big game and approach this like an FCS blowout when vegas has USU favored. I don't think we will win, but clearly the experts think this is going to be a close game. They're wrong all the time, but it makes you look foolish to just ignore it and i think it bolsters usu fans saying that it will be a real game.

Utah State returns 15 starters from a nine-win team a year ago -- including what the Aggies hope will be a healthy quarterback in Chuckie Keeton -- and gets what will be an extremely young Tennessee team in the first game of the season. I think it would be a close game if it was at a neutral site, but it's in Neyland and that's a pretty good travel for them..

We win by 17 points.

He's doing throwing drills in shorts. Long ways from being ready. You act like he will just come back and be Chuckie of old. Wait Til the pads come on and he's got guys coming after him. Then you guys will know how he trusts the knee. I've seen a few Dual QBs come back from ACLs recently and they didn't look the same. RGIII comes to mind

Only like two or three teams y'all beat had a decent record. Why do y'all act like its gonna be so easy? Sure we took some L's mostly to top 15 teams but you guys beat some real awful teams and you act like UT is just terrible while you guys are elite. I don't understand.

If u read back I said UT wins 31-17 but I dont think it will seem that close. Its not a big game. It is however a lot more competitive than most games of the past. Your not Cal or Oregon or Oklahoma so im not going to act like Utah State is. You are in a conference full of teams barely above WAC level. We aren't that great but we are sure as hell above MWC level.

You have to realize that he's right, though. No one really cares about this game, other than USU fans. We (Vol fans) do see this as an FCS game and are worried more about getting our regular tailgate spots than actually losing this game. It's the season opener at HOME in front of a STARVING fanbase, coming off of a HUGE recruiting/off season, with a roster full of young players who will be very eager to make an immediate impact, as well as some pretty good upper classman (Lane, Worley, AJ, Curt) that will want to show that UT's stench is over.

I, like most fans, expect to win this game by 21+ points. No offense to you or your team, you just don't know what playing in this atmosphere is like. USU doesn't scare anyone in this conference. Sorry.

You havent played any tough team to the wire!! If the 2011 Auburn team is one of the "tough teams" then your're misled. That team was blown out of every loss except clemson, and clemson beat them by double digits(ACC). They never scored more than 14 in loses to GA, LSU, Bammer and even Arky beat their brains in that year. Not too tough eh.

Had USC had coach O running the show they would've beat your brains out, so that wasnt a "tough team".

We might have beat you that year under Fooley (2011). And now with added depth, increased team speed, plus size difference, add that up and you have some sore @$$es going back to Mormon County High very humble. And i forgot the X factor...this team may be hungry.
I do understand you guys defending your team, and the respect you feel you deserve,( i would ask to see your man card if you didnt) but trust my Vol brethren when they say you may be shellshocked by this atmosphere. 38-20 Big Orange.

agreed.as much as i hate USC i have to say had they played USU later in the year they would have boat raced USU.

Hope he comes back in full working order. He would be a perfect test for us to see how ready we are for the remainder of our schedule. Also, I hate it when a player with a possible future as a pro loses that chance due to injury. So really hope he returns in full working order.

The thread was concerning and made some nervous about the line even though neither are the Vegas line. The 6.5 is still not comforting.
