Utah State feeling confident

Rain? Blah!

Hopefully that changes.

That's the 10 day forecast....give it 20 minutes and it will change! :)

The rain % may change but I'd say the temp will be rather pleasant for late Aug. in ET.

and its not exactly like USU has been beating any good teams either. Some folks are hyping them way too much.

im not saying they're the greatest team ever but lately weve been having trouble beating average teams and they're at least an average team in my books. Like i said, I expect us to win by a couple tds but I also dont see a reason for them to be intimidated by playing the once mighty Vols. We've been very beatable lately if you haven't noticed.

I think they may be able to slow our run game down but by doing that it should open up our studs at receiver and Tight end.
My only real concern is can we keep Keeton from getting to the edge and hurting us.

Unlike the past few years, we will at least have speed on the field.

They have a reason to be confident. I won't be shocked if Utah St wins, bc that's the way things have gone for UT lately. HOWEVER, I do think UT will win. Things HAVE to turn around at some point.

They have every right to be confident, opening the season against a team that hasn't had a winning record since 2009. But I don't think that confidence will help them in the long run

All you who think they're going to wet all over themselves because of Neyland and/or are affected by the weather are delusional. They played at Auburn just 2 years ago in the season opener and many of those players are still there. We will win imo, but I don't buy this intimidation bs.

I don't think they know what they're in for

I guess you were expecting them to say, "We're all really scared. We all wish that we didn't have to play the game."

In any case, they have been in environments like this before.

The delusion of so many fans (Tennessee or otherwise) is really annoying.

Agreed. Besides, we've been losing at home alot lately - not quite so intimidating. The last team I saw that seemed overwhelmed by the first time Neyland experience was Cal in 2006.

I hope UT gets the ball 1st and goes down and scores. My fear is, if USU gets the ball 1st and scores that will be the quietest 100,000 people you've ever heard and it will throw the intimidation factor right out the window.

Here we go, I doubt one score would silence the stadium, sorry your scared!!! Put your thumb in your mouth and suck on it!!! Or Better yet .......! Go Vols despite fans like this OP!!

All I read was a veteran team confident in themselves and their Coach's. If someone isn't confident then they don't need to be playing football. It was nothing disrespectful and actually they were very respectful of the team and our tradition. Definitely a dangerous team to open with but much prefer this kind of game than a UTMartin or someone like that. Their QB will definitely help us to prepare for Oklahoma and hopefully help build confidence..Can't wait until next Sunday!

What do you mean? Go sit at the top of Neyland and sit at the top of LP Field. You're probably higher up at LP Field and yet it seats 35,000 fewer people.

Having been at, or very near, the top of both stadiums I can tell you unequivocally that the top of Neyland is significantly higher and much steeper than LP Field. Not even close IMO.
