'26 UT WR Salesi Moa (Tennessee commit)

Our WR room is so stacked. Not even fair for defenses.

Especially after the 6 freshmen/RS freshmen we have now get ALL the extra practice reps and playing time they would not normally get due to upperclassmen being in front of them in the pecking order. Next year in 26 will be the 3rd year on campus for Matthews and Staley, and Smith, Jackson, Dodson will all have a whole year under their belt with a lot of balls thrown their way for freshmen. Whether its Gmac or Faizon starting next season...they are gonna have a LOADED WR room AND some of the best TEs in the nation as well. We should make the playoffs next year unless we get a ridiculously hard schedule. I HATE the 9 game conference schedule though. Just gonna beat up SEC teams more AND make it harder for us to make the playoffs ....while the Big10 has 8 Vanderbilts in it to pad the wins for OSU, PSU, Oregon, and Michigans cheating azzes.

I almost replied “how does he average out to 31 when he’s no higher than 35 in any rankings”…then I realized you may have a point here…there’s clearly an algorithm for each service and it’s not a simple average basis that is being applied…Osenda is a great example…5* on 247, 3 * on rivals…when factoring all of these things in maybe Moas “5 star” rating makes sense…

All the same, I’ve seen enough about him to know that he’s an elite prospect and I can’t wait to see him in Orange
Basically what I was assuming in my OP

Moa had a huge game last night as Fremont smashed Bonneville, 43-0: 5 catches for 152 yards & 1 TD (74 yards)...2 interceptions, 1 returned 39 yards for a TD.

Stats through 4 games: 24 receptions for 428 yards & 5 TDs, 29 tackles, 2 INTs.
nice. wish we had stats for some of the other players.

This dude is a starter at safety next season.
He’s so rangy and fast. Likes to hit too. Good ball skills. I know he was said to play WR, but man this guy will sure up our defense imo

Will be interesting to see where he ends up when he gets on campus. I know we ultimately landed him based on our pitch to be an SEC WR so have to imagine he starts there.

IMO he has a much quicker path to the field and a bigger impact for us if he plays safety though. The spot opposite Farooq will be wide open next year and Moa is the exact kind of rangy athlete we've been missing at the position for years now.

I think he has all the tools to be an All-SEC safety.

With the WR haul we’ve got coming in, we don’t need him at WR. We need him at S. Sell him on PT at S then the let him dabble at WR if he wants.

? He’s a big part of why the WR haul we have coming in is such a haul
He was sold on playing both ways. There's a much clearer path to PT at Safety as a freshman. Our WR room will be absolutely stacked next year.

I'm not saying don't ever play him at WR in his career. We were talking about his freshman year. Play him primarily at S as a freshman, then let him play both in the future. Truthfully, the kid might have a higher upside at Safety.

Right. Which, is still a WR.
Correct. Go back and read my posts. Not saying he's not a WR. I'm saying:

A) He's both a WR and a Safety.
B) As a freshman, his fastest path to PT is at Safety. So let him focus there as a freshman, while also practicing some at WR, then see if he can make an impact at WR as his career goes on.

Unless you think he's going to beat out Matthews, Staley, Brazzell, Keys, Smith, Jackson, and Dodson next year to be in the top 7 WRs. Because I don't. And even if he is in the top 7, he would need to be in the top 5 to get any kind of meaningful PT. That's not happening next year
